Sunday Scripture Thoughts: We gather in the house of God which is a house of Prayer. It is
only we who can make this house a house of Prayer. Let us reflect on our attitude that we bring
to this place of worship today.
Stations of the Cross throughout Lent: There will be Stations of the Cross every Sunday
throughout Lent at 3pm. Please come and take part in this Lenten tradition.
Churches Together in Filton Lent Course: Once again St Andrew‟s, St Peter‟s and St
Teresa‟s are coming together to offer a Lent Course. The theme this year is „Faith, Hope and
Love‟. With reflections from Abbot Christopher from Worth Abbey, Anne Atkins, BishopTom
Wright, Professor Frances Young. Dates and venues as follows. Monday, 16th March St Peter‟s
Hall, Thursday, 26th March St Teresa‟s Social Centre, Monday, 30th March St Peter‟s Hall.
Course begins at 7.30pm and will finish at 8.45pm. Light refreshments available. Please come
along and grow in faith during Lent.
Preparation for the Easter Vigil: The promise of new life seen through word and Symbol led
by Fr Christopher Whitehead and Sr.Elizabeth Llewellin. Saturday, 21 st March 2009 at Holy

CAFOD CLIFTON: Is unveiling the International Climate Justice Campaign. Wednesday 25 th
March, 7.30 – 9.00pm. St Teresa‟s Social Centre. Two Visitors from Cambodia, Bishop Declan
and Chris Bain (CAFOD‟s Director) will be present. Well worth attending!
A Special Coffee Morning: Please support Julie English on Sunday 15th March. She is running
in the Bath Half Marathon for RETRAK, a Charity helping street children in Kampala. Julie is
hosting the Coffee Morning 15th March.
APF Red Boxes: Will all collectors of the APF Red Boxes please collect their boxes by mid-
April. If you have an APF Box, but no collector, or wish to have an APF Box, please contact

Prayers Please: Please keep in your prayers those adults in our Parish who will be Baptised
and received into Full Communion in our Church at Easter.
St Patrick’s Day Parade & Celebrations: A St Patrick‟s Day Parade Sunday 15th March
2009. It will begin at The Gloucester Arms, Horfield at 12 noon. It will continue down
Gloucester Road and finish at St Bonaventure‟s Church Hall. Entertainment from 2pm-6pm.
Dancing to THE MURPHYS from Kerry. £7.50 Adults. £2.50 Teens.
Risen with Jesus: A quiet day with a post-Easter theme. Sunday, 25th April 2009 at The Poor
Clares Convent, Woodchester. Starts with coffee at 10am and ends with tea at 4pm. Please

Thyspace Retreat: Aged 20-25? Want to make space for God? Need time for reflection?
Following on from last years successful summer retreat. Fr. Stephen Wang will lead another

Relics of St Thérèse: As we know, the Relics of St Thérèse will be coming to our Parish on
Wednesday, 23rd September. They will remain in the Church until the following morning. The
veneration of Relics has been a part of our faith from the earliest of times. However, we may
need to be informed a bit more. Over the next few months a series of handouts will be available
in the Church Porch. Please take one home so that we may be prepared for the special honour
of hosting the relics of the Patron Saint of our Parish. The first handout is entitled „Who was St
Thérèse. (Also available on our parish website and
Confirmation 2009: Bishop Declan will be visiting St Teresa‟s Parish on 16 th June 2009 to
celebrate the Sacrament of confirmation. Our next meeting is on Sunday, 15th March at 4pm.
First Holy Communion 2009: Could all parents and children in yr 3 and above, who wish to
make their First Holy Communion, please note that preparation classes began on February 15th.
Our next meeting will be on Sunday, 15th March at 11.30pm.
Summer Faith Camps for Children: The Diocese is holding two Living your Faith Camps in
August. Week 1 ages 7-11, 10th-14th August. Week 2 ages 12-15, 17th-21st August. They are
held at Nympsfield in Gloucestershire. Ask Fr Tom (Chaplain for the two weeks) for more
Spirituality Course: A journey in Hope at Emmaus House, Clifton. This 12-week interactive
and experiential programme commenced on Thursday, 22nd January at Emmaus House from
7.30-9.30pm and follows the course of the Spiritual Exercises of St Ignatius. For further

Sunday Morning Mini-bus Run: Can you help please? If you are over 25 and under 70, have
a clean driving licence and a desire to help people get to Mass. We need more volunteers to
help with the Sunday morning Mini-bus run. Please ask Fr Tom or Deacon Tom for more
Third Wednesday Women’s Group: Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, 18th March at
7.30pm in the Social Centre, when Andy Workman will give a talk entitled „A Day in the Life
of a Policeman‟. A change in the previously advertised speaker.
Parish Social Centre: All parishioners and residents in the Local Community are welcome to
relax in the Parish Social Centre. Membership is very reasonable; enjoy a drink in the friendly
environment of the Lounge/Bar. Hall and skittle Alley available for bookings. Tele: 0117 969
