Began Square Dancing in 1965 & Round Dancing in 1972. They began teaching in 1974. They are members of the R/D Council of FL, serving as education chairman. The Dixie R/ D Council; URDC; AIDTA; and ROUNDALAB,where they served on the BOD for several years. They are one of the first Round Dance Teachers to become “accredited” by Roundalab as a TEACHER COACH, in 1998 were presented with ROUNDALAB’S 2nd highest award - ‘The Silver Circle Award”., and in 2005 ROUNDALAB presented them with their highest award “The Silver Halo” They are the only RAL members to receive all 3 of their highest awards. They also are one of the featured clinicians shown on the original Roundalab Video Tapes as well as the addendum tapes. They recently have produced their own series of VIDEO FIGURE INSTRUCTIONAL TAPES. As full time Round Dance Teachers, they winter in *Mesa, AZ., teaching PH III thru PH 6 - 6 days a week. When their schedule allows they travel on weekends. During the summer they travel extensively around the country & Canada conducting clinics; workshops & teachers seminars. They conduct many of their own “Hot Pepper” Round Dance Weekends and Clinics as well as running a Round Dance Teachers School annually. They also directed a R/D Exhibition Team (The Reflections) for 10 years. When in Jacksonville they conduct a workshop & figure clinic weekly. They believe in continuing education & spend at least 2 hrs. weekly taking private ballroom lessons from U.S. Champions - Jim & Jenell Maranto, and Larry Caves. Their family includes daughters, Lauri & Kathleen; sons in law Ken & Dale; granddaughter Kristen; grandsons Anthony and Austin & 2 great grandchildren Makayla & Chase. *TOWERPOINT RV RESORT , MESA, ARIZONA Wayne & Barbara are resident Round Dance Leaders (since 1991) for Towerpoint RV Resort in Mesa, Arizona. People come from all over the US & Canada to Towerpoint. It’s the dynamic adult RV community famous for warm desert sun and its own brand of positive creative living. Here’s 60 acres of modern convenience, immaculate grounds and planned activities “round the clock”. The park has 2 swimming pools; 3 tennis courts’ shuffleboard & horseshoe courts; indoor & outdoor therapy pools/spa and a driving range for golfers. Of course tops on the list is our Round Dance activity. Towerpoint has two of the most beautiful; air conditioned ballrooms in Mesa. Our Blue Room has over 3,000 sq.ft of beautiful hardwood floor and our large newly renovated Ballroom has more than 7,000 sq ft of floating hardwood floor.
