The day is free. Why not start with a visit to the bustling bazaar and spice market, or explore the Nubian Museum or indulge in a felucca ride on the blue Nile. (B)
Day 6
: Aswan
Today we cross the desert to the coastal resort town of Hurghada. Arriving in the mid afternoon there is free time to enjoy a dip in the Red Sea to work up a tan or take a short horse ride along the shore with the Bedouin. Night at leisure. (B)
Free day! Laze on the beach or, for the more adventurous, join an optional diving excursion or a spot of snorkelling. Home to a significant Bedouin population, join an optional jeep or camel trek to the glorious Coloured Canyon or one of the tranquil palm-filled oases in the vicinity. Evening at leisure.(B)
Day 11
Spend the morning exploring or join our option tour to astounding Abu Simbel and the Temple complex of Ramses II. Returning to Aswan we embark our Nile cruise boat for a delicious lunch before setting sail for Luxor.(B)(L)(D)

: Cairo
Our Egyptian dream starts with the extraordinary treasures of the Egyptian Museum we visit this morning - see Tutankahmun’s treasures, Masterpieces of the Old Kingdom and the Ancient Jewellery Room. Afternoon drive to the renowned Pyramids of Giza. We stop to see the enigmatic Sphinx, inscrutably gazing out over the Plateau. Free evening to explore Cairo by night. (B)
Days 7 & 8
: Nile Cruise
This morning we leave the resort of Hurghada and travel by hydrofoil to the Sinai Peninsula. Disembark at Sharm el-Sheik, then we head inland to Mt. Sinai and St. Katherine’s Monastery. Time to explore one of Christianity’s oldest Monastery and Church before dinner at our hotel. (B)(D)
After breakfast we travel back along the coastal road of the Red Sea via the region of Suez to arrive back in Cairo. Why not join your fellow travellers for a farewell dinner? (B)
Day 3
: Alexandria
Enjoy a leisurely sail along the Nile en route to Luxor stopping at the riverside temple at Kom Ombo and nearby markets. Later at picturesque Edfu we take a carriage ride to the well preserved Temple to Horus. Upon arriving in Luxor, we board horse drawn carriages to visit the colossal Temple of Karnak. We return to our boat for our final Nile cruise dinner. (B)(L)(D)

: Cairo
Get ready for one of the tour highlights as we climb Mt. Sinai to experience a most spellbinding site - sunrise over the mountains of the Sinai Peninsula! We guarantee you will never forget this experience. Afternoon drive to seaside Dahab. Evening at leisure. (B)

Morning drive along the Mediterranean coast to the historic city of Alexandria, founded by Alexander the Great. On arrival we take a guided tour through the Alexandria National Museum, then stop at the catacombs of Kom ash-Shuqqafa, the Roman Amphitheatre and Pompey’s Pillar. Enjoy a delicious seafood lunch overlooking the harbour. Afternoon at leisure before we return to Cairo. (B) (L)
Day 9
: Luxor
Before sunrise, we cross to the West Bank then set off by donkey caravan to experience the evocative Valley of the Kings, once the ancient city of Thebes. Experienced local guides escort you through the magnificent tombs of the ancient Pharaohs. Afternoon at leisure. (B)
Day 4
: Cairo
Transportation
A fascinating insight into Cairo’s history as we tour highlights of evocative Coptic Cairo – it’s ancient Christian churches, monasteries and the Coptic Museum. Thrill to the sights of Islamic Cairo – now world heritage listed. We visit the Citadel, the serene Mosque of Mohammed Ali, finishing with the magical Khan Al-Khalili or Great Bazaar for some souvenir browsing! Evening departure on the overnight sleeper train to Aswan. (B)(D)
