JOB PURPOSE
A multi-disciplined events and marketing manager is required to lead the strategic
development and implementation of the OFT events programme and provide professional
events management skills for the office, in conjunction with the overarching OFT
communications strategy. Although the primary focus of this role is events, the job holder will
also have responsibility for wider targeted corporate marketing and campaigns projects.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES/KEY DUTIES
• To lead the development and implementation of the OFT corporate events programme,
providing an excellent service to internal and external stakeholders.
• Take the lead in advising senior colleagues across the OFT on appropriate corporate
events strategies appropriate to their work or projects.
• To lead the development of systems, processes and protocols appropriate to the
functioning of a highly effective corporate events team.
• To lead on the project management of all OFT corporate events.
• To develop and implement wider targeted corporate marketing and consumer/business
campaigns.
• To manage relationships within the OFT and external stakeholders to ensure an integrated
approach to the management and effective delivery of all projects.
• To source external suppliers in a cost effective manner to facilitate the delivery of
corporate events.
Some out of hours working, travelling throughout the UK and overnight stays will also be
required.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications
• Marketing degree or equivalent experience (Essential)
Experience
• Demonstrable experience of working within an in-house or agency marketing environment
(Essential)
• Experience of working on consumer and/or business campaigns (Essential)
• Sourcing and booking appropriate venues (Essential)
• Ordering catering for a diverse cultural audience (Desirable)
• Experience of commissioning print (Desirable)
Knowledge
• Knowledge and understanding of design (Essential)
• Good working knowledge of PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office packages (Essential)
• Awareness of corporate identity issues (Essential)
• Awareness of Audio Visual techniques (Essential)
• Some knowledge of consumer/competition issues (Desirable)
Skills
• Ability to work as part of a team and to liaise with people of all levels (Essential)
• Ability to work under pressure (Essential)
• Good organisational skills (Essential)
