Employee Time Sheet Instructions
Time sheets for employees can be accessed through the myDenison site, my.denison.edu. Look for the red backpack on the left side of your myDenison page under the Employee tab and click on “Go to DU Self Service”.
In the lower left corner of the User Login screen enter your User ID, your “D” number or SSN, and your PIN number. If you need to have your PIN number reset please contact Carrie at x6299.
On the first screen select “Employee”.
On the Employee Main Menu screen select “Time Entry Menu”.
On the Time Entry and Proxies screen select “Time Sheet”.
This will bring you to the Time Sheet/Leave Request/Proxy screen where you will activate the radio button to the right of “Access my Time Sheet”, found under My Choice. Then click the “Select” button at the bottom of the screen.
The Position Selection screen allows you to verify the correct position for which you are entering hours and the proper pay period for those hours. To change pay period dates use the drop down arrow. Once the correct pay period has been selected, click the “Time Sheet” button at the bottom of the screen.
Your time sheet will have several “Earnings” categories in which to enter your hours worked, leave taken or holiday hours paid. Click on “Enter Hours” under the appropriate day and “Earnings” category to log your hours. Your regular hours worked each day should be entered under “regular pay”. Over time hours will be logged under “overtime pay”.
Enter your hours in the required format (hours, colon, minutes), being mindful to change the AM and PM appropriately. Then click the “Save” button at the bottom of the screen and verify the hour total just entered. You must calculate your own overtime, the system does not calculate it automatically.
Once you have entered your hours for the first week of the pay period, use the “Next” button at the bottom of your time sheet to advance to the second week of the pay period. When you have completed both weeks click “Submit for Approval” below your time sheet. Your deadline to submit your time sheet for approval is Monday at noon after the pay period ends. If you do not submit your online time sheet by noon you will be locked out and unable to complete an online time sheet. Your hours to be paid will not flow through the normal process and your paycheck will be delayed, not direct deposited. Once you have submitted your time sheet you can no longer access it.
After you submit your time sheet the Certification screen will appear. Enter your PIN number (the same Pin number to access your DU Self Service) and click on the “Submit” button at the bottom of the screen to certify that the time sheet is true and accurate.
