					PIPRA: ASSISTANT III

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Public Intellectual Property Resource for Agriculture (PIPRA) is
seeking to hire a __socially conscious students with good design
skills__ to assist in new and ongoing projects. PIPRA is a non-profit
and sponsored research program at the University of California,
Davis (www.pipra.org). Our main goal is to help people in
developing countries gain access to patented technologies in the
area of agriculture and health. We also do a great deal of outreach
to teach about international patent law in developing countries with
a particular focus on Southeast Asia and Latin America.

Job Description: We have a number of opportunities available
including designing online content, content for foriegn audiences in
Africa/Asia/Latin America, to the design of illustrations for
scientific publications and conferences. A background or interest in
information design, graphic design, typography, or web design is a
real plus for this position.

Time: 8-10 hours per week, starting right away.

Compensation: Assistant III

Ideal candidates will meet the following qualifications:

Personal: Responsible and organized individual with strong
communication skills. Hold the ability to work independently, learn
quickly, and set and meet milestones with minimum supervision.

Education: Familiarity with plant biology terminology and interest
in patent law is great but not required. Completion of general
biology (BIS1A), statistics (STA 13). plant biology (BIS 1C), genetics
(BIS 101), cell biology (BIS 104) or relevant social sciences is a icing
on the cake, but also not required.
