   JOB SUMMARY:

   To assist the General Manager, the Treasurer and the Board of Directors in the day to
   day operation of the Brampton Youth Hockey Association.


   GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

   The complete management of all accounting functions including bank reconciliation,
   records of deposits, monthly statements (balance sheet, trial balance) up to but not
   including the preparation of the Annual Report;

   Preparation of cheques for review and signing by the President, Treasurer and/or the
   Secretary as directed (including general expenses, referee, timekeepers, etc.,);

   Review and posting of invoices submitted to the organization;

   Assist in the review of tenders and contracts by the BYHA as directed by the Board of
   Directors;

   Make the weekly deposits for the organization;

   Preparation and forwarding of individual League statements (player NSF’s, surcharges,
   deposits) to the appropriate League Vice-Presidents.


   AUTHORITY:

   Responsible for the completion of own duties.

REPORTS TO:

The Bookkeeper reports to the Treasurer and the General Manager.


SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

The following are preferred minimum skill levels (other considerations such as additional
work experience may be considered when selecting a suitable candidate):

•   College Degree (with a background/major in):

        Accounting, Administration and / or Business

•   Computer literate (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook and a recognized accounting
    software program such as Simply, Quicken, etc., as a minimum);

•   Standard 40 hour work week with a flex time schedule based on changing office
    hours and a willingness to adjust schedule as it relates to a volunteer Board and the
    requirement to attend night and weekend meetings.

Excellent communication skills with practical experience in a community based
organization environment (previous co-op and volunteer work for a community based
organization would be a definite asset).


PERFORMANCE REVIEW:

•   The Bookkeeper will be subject to an Annual Performance Review to be carried out
    by the Treasurer, the General Manager and the Executive Committee.
