The International School of Ikast-Brande Principal Background
In Ikast-Brande a group of business people and parents have lodged an application to the Ministry of Education to establish an independent international school with the legal status of a free school. The authorization was granted by the Ministry of Education in December 2008. In a joint effort, business and local authorities will be committed to securing the economic foundation for the school. School information The school is expected to open its doors on 1 August 2009 to 20-25 students. The number of students is expected to double within three years. The school will be self-contained within the municipal school of Ikast Vestre Skole.
Job description
The principal will be responsible for: the administrative management of the school according to statutory requirements; planning, managing and monitoring the curriculum within the agreed budget; providing a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum based on the Cambridge Educational Programme; providing professional leadership and school development plans; and, forging strong community links to parents, companies and other external agencies. The successful candidate will prepare the startup of the school in the spring of 2009, with the following related tasks: selecting and recruiting of educational and administrative team; preparing classrooms and administrative offices; securing teaching materials and equipment; negotiating agreements with Ikast Vestre Skole for the use of specialized teaching rooms and facilities; creating and maintaining good relationships with potential pupils and their parents; promoting the school to relevant target groups; providing information and professional PR material about the school; and, ensuring that all statutory requirements are met.
