STERLING COMMERCE JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Engagement Manager GENERAL SUMMARY: The Engagement Manager defines the scope, estimates the level of effort, forecasts revenue and resource needs, and develops the Statements of Work (SOW) for consulting services. For signed SOWs, the Engagement Manager will manage the on-time, on-budget completion of multiple parallel projects by managing schedules, resolving escalated issues, tracking project status, managing functional and technical resources, and working with the client’s senior management. Acts as the key resource held accountable for delivery quality and customer satisfaction upon project launches. Participates in pre-sales activities. SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY: The Engagement Manager is responsible for professional services scoping, estimating, revenue and resource forecasting, contracting, and on-time and on-budget delivery of projects. Supervision: The Engagement Manager will manage the staff consultants, delivery consultants and lead consultants that are staffed on their projects (averages 10 FTEs). ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Define the scope, estimate the level of effort, and create the Statement of Work (SOW) for professional services projects by working with the customer and the Sterling Account Executive. Participate in the negotiation of rates and resolution of services contract issues. Manage and forecast revenue and resources Manages the on-time and on-budget delivery of services against multiple parallel projects (averages 12 active booked projects). Provide leadership to the customer and Account Executive by resolving services related issues that are escalated during the pre-sales process, services delivery process and post-delivery process. Set and manage customers expectations and customer satisfaction on project delivery approach, level of effort estimates, schedule, and rates Facilitates communication between the client and the Global Delivery Center Coaches project consultants in consistent high quality delivery of services; Provide project reviews for each consultant at the conclusion of the services delivery Handles relations with partners Supervises the work of partner consultants as necessary Provides leadership to delivery consultants through knowledge sharing, consulting tool and training material creation and on-site shadowing. Contributes to library of consulting best practices. Assists sales and pre-sales to win new clients/projects. Assists legal to contract for commercially low-risk projects. Able and willing to travel up to 80%

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES: • • Ability to manage teams of 10+ consultants delivering multiple IT projects across clients Experience and familiarity with electronic commerce standards like RosettaNet, EDI X12 or EDIFACT.

Experience and familiarity with finance standards like SEPA, FIN or SWIFT. Strong facilitation, communication, and negotiation skills. Knowledge and experience with writing and negotiating Statements of Work and Master Services Agreements Experience and familiarity with electronic commerce translator products (Sterling Commerce Gentran or similar translator products) Strong knowledge in value chain management (supply chain and demand chain) Knowledge of application development and system architecture preferred; basic knowledge of Unix/NT, C++, Java, and XML preferred Exceptional interpersonal, organizational and communication (written & verbal) skills in both Spanish & English. Experienced in the ability to anticipate and build contingency project plans.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: BA/BS (Computer Science or Engineering) or equivalent education and experience; Experience: • • • 8 years of system integration and IT consulting experience with 4 years of project management Experience managing competing priorities and dividing time between consulting services presales and project delivery Experience project managing multiple projects concurrently
Desired Qualifications: MBA preferred Knowledge of data communication, application software and e-business practices. Familiarity with Sterling Commerce solutions strongly desired. Familiarity with industry consulting practices, methodologies and tools strongly desired. Residence within assigned geographical region is mandatory. Knowledge of additional European languages is a plus
