Instructions and References for Word Matching Files AMTNYS listserve email: I have developed individualized self-checking word matching files for Integrated Algebra. Most of the words have been selected from the official Integrated Algebra Glossary. http://www.emsc.nysed.gov/3-8/LanguageAlgebra.doc Some words were added because they were used in other Integrated Algebra materials. Use the Integrated Algebra wiki link below to see these files, instructions for using them, and a list of references.

A sample Algebra sheet is shown below. I will send sample sheets for Geometry a nd Number Sense in separate emails. You can print class sets or a different sheet for each student. You have the option of including a fold back answer key in the right column of each sheet or leaving this column blank and printing separate answer keys. You can edit the words and definitions to suit your needs. Please feel free to share these files with other teachers. If you need more information, my email address is janovsky1@optonline.net

Instructions In order to create the individualized sheets, you must first enable macros. Do this using: Tools/Options/Security/Macro Security/Security Level The macro security tab is near the bottom right of the dialog box. Select medium for the security level.
Execute the macro using CTRL-t. Each time you press CTRL-t, five sheets and one key with the answers for these sheets will be printed. The form number at the top of the matching sheet should match the form number in the key. Each workbook contains four worksheets. Sheet 1 is used for output (student copy) Sheet 2 is used for words and definitions Sheet 3 is used by the macro to shuffle the definitions and examples. Sheet “Keys” is used for the separate answer keys. The macro shuffles the definitions that are listed in sheet 2 and moves them to sheet 1. You can edit the words and definitions in sheet 2 to suit your needs. You can change your options entering ones and zeroes in column E of Sheet 2. If you want to test the macro without printing, change the 1 to 0 in cell E2. If you want to change the number of sheets printed, enter a number between 1 and 5 in cell E3. You can change the number of items in cell E4 (maximum 25). If you use a number less than 25 you may need to edit “Sheet 1” and “Sheet Keys.” If you want the answers to print in the right column enter “1” in cell E5. If you do not want the answers to print enter “0” in cell E5. The macro increments the form number on sheet 1 (cell D1). You can change this number. You can edit the format to suit your needs, but please do not add or delete rows, columns, or cells.
