Chapter 2: Installing and uninstalling
Installation requirements
Titanium 2006 can be installed in computers which meet a series of minimum
requirements (hardware and software). These requirements are as follows:
     Processor: Pentium 150 MHz.
     RAM memory: 96 MB.
 Hard disk: 110 MB free space.
     Operating System installed: Windows XP/2000 Pro/Me/98
     Internet Explorer 5.01.

Installing Titanium 2006: step 1

Before installing Titanium 2006, check that your computer meets the minimum
requirements. If your computer meets all of the pre-requisites, you can install Titanium
2006.

Before starting the installation process:
 Close your e-mail program. It is also recommendable to close any other programs
         that are open.
 Check that no antivirus solutions are installed. The automatic protection of
different security solutions can conflict with one another.

To start installation:
 If you have downloaded Titanium 2006 from the Internet, run the corresponding
         file.
 If you are installing from the CD-ROM, insert the disk in the CD-ROM drive.

Installation, step 2: Installing from the CD-ROM

On inserting the CD-ROM, the installation wizard will run automatically. Select Install
Titanium 2006.

If the Autoplay option is disabled on your computer, go to My PC, select the CD or DVD
drive and run autorun.exe.

Installation, step 3: Language

    1. Select the language in which you want to install Titanium 2006.
    2. Click OK.

Installation, step 4: Welcome

Welcome to the installation process. This window displays an overview of the program’s
main features and advises you to close all programs and uninstall any other security
solutions installed before continuing. Click on Next.

                                                                                             6
Panda Titanium 2006 Antivirus + Antispyware

Installation, step 5: Incompatibilities

If the minimum hardware and software requirements for installing Titanium 2006 are not
met, the installation process will not continue.

If there is another antivirus product installed on your computer, a screen will appear to let
you know that you will have to uninstall it before continuing with the installation of
Titanium 2006.

Installation, step 6: License agreement

License agreement. Click on Yes, once you have read and agreed to the conditions.

Installation, step 7: Typical - Custom

A screen appears that allows you to select the type of installation to perform: Typical or
Custom. If you choose to perform a Typical installation all protections will be installed
by default. However, if you prefer to indicate which protections will be installed click on
Custom installation.

In this screen you can also change the installation directory set by default. In order to do
this, click on the Browse... button and select the directory. Click on Next to continue.

Note: If your computer does not meet the 96 MB RAM memory requirement this window will not be displayed.
In this case, a reduced installation will be carried out, which means that some of the protection modules will not be
enabled (e.g. Firewall, protection against unknown viruses, and Internet protection level control). We recommend
you to upgrade your computer’s RAM in order to obtain complete protection.

Installation, step 8: Scan

You can Scan memory during installation or Scan hard drive during installation.
Select the part you want to scan and click on Next.

Note: If you have selected Typical installation, this screen is not displayed and the memory will be
automatically scanned.

If you selected a scan in the previous step, the corresponding scan will be carried out.
When this scan is complete, click on OK.

Installation, step 9: File copy

The files are copied to the hard disk.

Installation, step 10: Choose protections

If you are carrying out a custom installation, a window will be displayed where you can
indicate the protections that you want to install: Protection against viruses spyware
and other threats, Protection against unknown threats, Firewall protection and
Internet protection level control.

                                                                                                                    7
Panda Titanium 2006 Antivirus + Antispyware

If you chose a typical installation this window will not be displayed, as all protections will
be installed by default.

Installation, step 11: Configuring the firewall protection

If you want to configure the advanced settings of the firewall now, click on Configure
advanced firewall protection settings. Remember that you can configure the firewall
protection at any other time, once the program has been installed. For more information
about the firewall, refer to What is the firewall?

The firewall protection will only be enabled once the computer has been restarted.

Note: If your operating system is Windows XP and the firewall incorporated in this operating system is enabled,
a window will be displayed which will allow you to disable it in order to install the firewall included with Titanium
2006. We recommend you to use the firewall included with Titanium 2006, as it incorporates advanced protection
features.

Installation, step 12: Online registration

You can register as a user of Titanium 2006 in order to benefit from the services it
includes. (Yes, I want to register now) at this stage, or do it later (No, I have already
registered or will register later). Select one of the two options and press Next. If you
decided to register, your Internet browser will open and you will access the Registration
page. Follow the instructions on that page.

Note: Subscription versions and those purchased from the Virtual Store on the website do not include the option
to access the online product registration during installation.

Installation, step 13: Transmission of information

Specify if you want to allow anonymous information about the threats detected on your
computer. This data will be used to keep updated information about the impact of viruses
in different parts of the world.

Installation, step 14: End of installation

If you have installed the firewall, the wizard will give you the option to restart the
computer now or do it later. Select the option you want and click on the Finish button.

Finally, a window is displayed that will allow you to open Titanium 2006. If the Open
Titanium 2006 box is checked, the program will run automatically.

In this section, the user is informed of the current status of Titanium 2006. The data
offered is as follows:
 Last updated: It indicates the date when the program was last updated. If it is
necessary to perform an update, the color of the text will change, and an option
called Update will appear next to it. Clicking on this option will start the update
         process.
 Updates and services expire: It displays the expiry date of updates and
services. If they expire in less than a month, the text will turn orange and the
option Renew license will appear next to it. If services expire in less than a
week, the text will turn red and, as in the previous case, the Renew license
option will be displayed next to it. Click on it to continue using the updates and
         the rest of the services.

Note: This option only appears after you have registered.

 Automatic updates: This updates the Virus Signature File and the program itself
on detecting an open Internet connection. This way, the user decides when to
carry out an update, or Titanium 2006 can perform them automatically. This
section indicates whether the updates are enabled and if they are working
         properly.
The options that appear in the lower part of the window allow you to update the program
at any time (Update now) or configure it to update automatically (Update settings).

                                                                                                      12
Panda Titanium 2006 Antivirus + Antispyware

Chapter 6: Enabling and configuring the protection

How to enable the protection against insecure Internet access

Whenever you try to connect to the Internet, Titanium 2006 will evaluate the protection
level of your computer in order to guarantee secure Internet access. If Titanium 2006
detects that the configuration will not guarantee a correct level of protection, it will display
a pop-up message suggesting actions to take in order to ensure an optimum level of
protection.

This protection will be enabled by default as soon as the program has been installed.
However, if you need to enable it manually, follow the steps below:
     1. Access the Settings menu in the main Titanium 2006 window.
     2. Select the Automatic protection settings option.
     3. Click on the Internet protection level control checkbox.
     4. Enable the Enable the protection against unsafe Internet access checkbox
          by clicking on it.
     5. Click on OK.

Configuring the protection against unknown threats

Titanium 2006 incorporates revolutionary TruPrevent™ Technologies that complement
traditional heuristic scan techniques to offer a greater protection against unknown viruses
and other threats.

TruPrevent™ Technologies represent a huge step forward in the fight against viruses
and other malicious code, as they are capable of preempting the problem by monitoring
the behavior of all processes on the computer in order to detect and neutralize unknown
threats.

Thanks to TruPrevent™ Technologies, Titanium 2006 is not only capable of detecting
unknown viruses but it also neutralizes viruses that try to get into computers from the
Internet or network. Follow these steps to enable detection of unknown threats (both the
heuristic and the behavioral analysis):
     1. Go to the Settings menu.
     2. Select Automatic protection settings.
     3. Click on Protection against unknown threats.
     4. Check the option Enable TruPrevent™ Technologies.
     5. Click on Advanced settings and make sure that the option Enable behavioral
analysis is enabled. In addition, you can enable the genetic heuristic scan for files,
          email and instant messaging.
     6. Click on OK.
When these options are enabled, Titanium 2006 will remain on the alert for unknown
viruses that might pose a threat to your computer.

Note: Technologies specialized in detecting malware using behavioral analysis of processes can block certain
applications with suspicious behavior. If you think it is necessary you can disable this action at any time.

If you want Titanium 2006 to display a pop-up warning every time a malicious program is
detected, enable the option Display warning on detecting malicious program.

                                                                                                                  15
Panda Titanium 2006 Antivirus + Antispyware

If these options are enabled and an unknown virus is detected, Titanium 2006 will display
a pop-up warning in the right corner of the screen, which will give you the option to send
us the threat that has been detected so that it can be analyzed by our experts.

Finally, clicking on List of blocked unknown viruses will display the list of unknown
viruses that Titanium 2006 has blocked so far. If you would like our experts to analyze
them, select them from the list and click on Send.

    5. Click on OK.

What is spyware?

Spyware is a type of software that is often included in other applications that can be
downloaded from the Internet, such as shareware or freeware. This means that when
these applications are installed, spyware could also be installed at the same time, without
you realizing.

The aim of spyware is to obtain information from your computer without your permission,
typically for advertising purposes. Once the spyware is installed on your computer, it
monitors your Internet activity and then reports the information back to third-parties. The
information that these programs can expose could be confidential information: passwords,
credit card numbers, e-mail addresses, etc.

When spyware sends the information it has obtained via the Internet, it uses up memory
resources and bandwidth, resulting in other damaging effects derived from these
operations.

Note: In some cases, removing spy software from your computer might affect the performance of the
applications that installed the spyware component in question. If you wish, you can exclude spyware from the scan
or disable detection of spyware. However, bear in mind that if you do so, your computer will not be protected
against spy software, and your privacy might be compromised.

How to enable the anti-spyware protection

Spyware can obtain information from your computer without you realizing, compromising
the privacy of your data. In order to enable detection of this type of software, follow the
steps below:
    1. Click on Settings in the main Titanium 2006 window.
    2. Click on Automatic protection settings.
    3. Click on Antivirus protection.
    4. Click on Configure detection of spyware.
    5. Finally, enable the Enable detection of spyware checkbox by clicking on it.
    6. Click on OK.

                                                                                                               17
Panda Titanium 2006 Antivirus + Antispyware

Note: In some cases, removing spy software from your computer might affect the performance of the
applications that installed the spyware component in question. If you wish, you can exclude spyware from the scan
or disable detection of spyware. However, bear in mind that if you do so, your computer will not be protected
against spy software, and your privacy might be compromised.

When Titanium 2006 detects, neutralizes or eliminates spyware, it warns you by means of
a pop-up message. In addition, the warning displays the Name of the spyware and its
Location (where it has been detected). If spyware is detected when installing a program,
the pop-up message will give you the option of canceling installation.

If you want Titanium 2006 to display warnings whenever a malicious cookie is detected,
enable the option Show local warning if malicious cookies are detected.

You can also backup the Internet Explorer settings (for example, the home page or the
search page) and easily restore them if a spyware program changes them. Click on
Configure restore of Internet Explorer to do so.

How to disable the anti-spyware protection

In order to disable the anti-spyware protection, follow the steps below:
     1. Click on Settings in the main Titanium 2006 window.
     2. Click on Automatic protection settings.
     3. Click on Antivirus protection.
     4. Click on Configure detection of spyware.
     5. Finally, disable the Enable detection of spyware checkbox by clicking on it.
     6. Click on OK.

Back up of Internet Explorer settings. How do I restore the
original settings?

Certain spyware components can change the current settings of your browser without
your permission (for example, changing the home page, etc.). If the current settings of
your browser are correct and you want to make a back-up that you can easily recover
if necessary, follow the steps below:
     1. Go to Settings and click on Automatic protection settings > Antivirus
protection > Configure detection of spyware > Manage Internet Explorer
          settings.
     2. Select the checkbox corresponding to the values you want to save and click on
          Save values.
For example if the home page that appears in the current value column is correct, select
the check box and click on Save values. When you do this, the address will also appear
in the saved value column. This allows you to easily restore the Internet Explorer settings
if they are modified by spyware without your permission.

If you need to restore the original settings at any time, select the check box you want and
click on Restore originals. When you do this, all the values in the current value column
will be replaced with the values in the saved value column.

The browser settings have changed, how can I recover them?
If you notice that the Internet browser settings have changed without your permission (for
example, the home page has changed), you can restore your original settings by following
these steps:

Enable and configure the protection against fraud

Titanium 2006 also protects against the increasing amount of Internet fraud scam
perpetrated on the Internet. For example, with the protection against phishing, you can
avoid false web pages created by fraudsters that seem to belong to banks or similar but
are really designed to trick you.

In addition, the program includes special protection to prevent the modem on your
computer from dialing up premium rate numbers without your consent. These types of
programs are known as dialers, and can result in a considerable increase in your phone
bill.

Enabling and configuring the detection of dialers:
Follow the steps below to enable detection of dialers during the full scans:
     1. Click on Settings in the main Titanium 2006 window.
     2. Select the Automatic protection settings option.
     3. Click on Antivirus protection.

hard disks when a full scan is performed, enable the Detect dialers on disk
          checkbox.
     6. Click on OK.
If you use a dialup modem to connect to the Internet, it is advisable to specify the number
you dial to establish the connection by following the steps below. By doing this, Titanium
2006 will block any calls to numbers that you have not authorized.
     1. Click on Settings in the main Titanium 2006 window.
     2. Select the Automatic protection settings option.
     3. Click on Antivirus protection.
     4. Click on Configure protection against fraud.
     5. Check the Detect attempts to dial unauthorized phone numbers checkbox.
     6. Then click on Configure list of authorized numbers to specify the number or

dialer tries to call a number you have not authorized. This message will give you the
option to deny or allow the connection.

Enabling the detection of attempts to steal private data (phishing):
The protection against phishing will help you prevent falling victim to web pages that
seem to belong to banks or other trusted entities, when they are actually controlled by
cyber-crooks. If you want to be protected against this type of fraud make sure that the
option Detect attempts to steal private data (phishing) is enabled (it will be enabled
by default).

Panda Titanium 2006 Antivirus + Antispyware

What is the protection against phishing?

Phishing is when cyber-crooks send emails which seem to come from a reputable company
(such as a bank) in order to obtain confidential data like credit card numbers or
passwords.

These trick messages normally ask the user to visit a web page -seemingly completely
trustworthy- in which they are then asked to enter personal data, under the pretext of
updating this information. However, what seems to the victim to be the official web page
of a reputable company is actually an imitation used by the fraudsters.

The protection against phishing in Titanium 2006 detects and neutralizes email messages
aimed at perpetrating this kind of fraud. When Titanium 2006 detects a message like this,
it will inform you and display a message explaining what has happened.

What is a firewall?

The firewall is a filter that protects your computer from intruders and guarantees safe
Internet browsing.

The Titanium 2006 firewall filters the connections that enter and leave the computer when
it connects to the Internet or other network computers, only allowing safe connections.

Whenever a program tries to connect to the Internet, Titanium 2006 will ask you if you
want to allow the connection by means of a pop-up warning. The same happens when a
program or a user tries to connect to your computer from the outside.

By doing this, as you assign permissions, you will gain total control of the connections
established from your computer and vice versa.

Characteristics of the firewall protection

The main characteristics of the firewall protection include the following:

Protection of wireless networks (WiFi)
Effectively blocks intrusion attempts launched through wireless networks (WiFi). When an
intruder attempts to access, a pop-up warning is displayed that allows you to immediately
block the attack.

Access to the network and the Internet
It specifies which programs installed on your computer can access the network or the
Internet.

Protection of ports and protocols
Protects the ports and protocols used by programs to communicate with other network
computers.

Protection against intruders
It prevents hacker attacks that try to access your computer to carry out certain actions,
and not always with the best intentions.

How to enable or disable the firewall protection

The firewall protection safeguards your computer while you browse the Internet, and it is
therefore recommendable to ensure that it is always enabled. If the firewall is correctly
installed, it will be automatically enabled. However, if this protection is disabled, you can
enable it by following the steps below:
     1. Click on Settings in the main Titanium 2006 window.
     2. Select the Automatic protection settings option.
     3. Click on Firewall protection.
     4. To enable this protection, enable the Enable the firewall protection checkbox
by clicking on it. To disable it, simply uncheck this box.
     5. Click on OK.
Once the Titanium 2006 firewall protection is enabled, it will block all intrusion attempts
carried out while you are connected to the Internet and will inform you about the situation
through a pop-up warning.

Similarly, the firewall will also display a pop-up warning whenever a program tries to
connect to the Internet, or when a user tries to establish a connection from the Internet to
any of the programs you have installed. This message will give you the option to allow or
deny these types of connections.

If you do not want Titanium 2006 to display a pop-up warning every time a network virus
or an intrusion attempt is detected, disable the option Display warning on detecting
network virus or intrusion attempt (it is enabled by default).

How to configure the firewall protection

The Titanium 2006 firewall protection is completely automatic and is capable of deciding
which programs on your computer can connect to the Internet, without you needing to
worry about it. It is recommendable to respect the permissions automatically assigned by
the firewall. However, you can change any of the connection permissions for any program
by following the steps below:
   1. Click on Settings in the main Titanium 2006 window.
   2. Select the Automatic protection settings option.
   3. Click on Firewall protection.
   4. Click on Connection permission settings.
   5. If the Automatically assign connection permissions (recommended)
checkbox is enabled (it is enabled by default), disable it. After doing this, you can
define the permissions for each program in the list by expanding the list on the
right of each program. The options that could appear are the following:
 Outbound (client): The program can connect to the Internet in order to access
different services, but it will deny external connections established by other users
or applications that try to connect to this application.
 Inbound and outbound: If these connection permissions are assigned, the
program will not only be able to connect Internet in order to access different
services, but external connections will also be allowed. This means that it will
allow other programs or users to connect to it. There are programs that allow
files to be shared with other users and chat programs that need these
permissions in order to function correctly.
 No connection: If these connection permissions are assigned, the program will
not be able to access the Internet.
Other options available are the following:
 Show operating system programs, if this option is checked, the list will also
include the programs that belong to the operating system that are also accessing
the network for some reason or other.
 Remove application. Select one or several programs in the list and click on this
button to remove them. By doing this you will temporarily prevent the program
from having permission to access a network. When the program tries to establish
a connection, a warning will appear that allows you to assign it the permissions
           you want.
 Regenerate list: when you click on this button a window will be displayed
containing a list of common programs that will access the Internet without your
confirmation. If you would like Titanium 2006 to ask for your confirmation when
these programs access the Internet, uncheck the box corresponding to the
           program in question.
Click on OK for the changes to come into effect.

Furthermore, the firewall protection in Titanium 2006 will automatically detect the network
adapters (modem or network cards) installed and will define the zone to which each one
can connect: Secure zone (local network) and restricted zone (Internet).

You can check which type of connection is assigned to each network adapter by clicking on
Advanced settings (Settings > Automatic protection settings > Firewall
protection > Advanced settings).

                                                                                              23
Panda Titanium 2006 Antivirus + Antispyware

If you want to modify these settings, you can do so by selecting the options available in
the drop-down list that appears on the right of each adapter. If the network adaptor
connects to a local network, select Secure zone. If the adaptor is going to connect
directly to the Internet (for example, through a modem) select Restricted zone.

How do I configure the permissions for programs that try to
connect to the Internet?

By default, the firewall allows the most commonly used programs to access the Internet.
However, if another program is detected trying to connect to the outside (the Internet or a
computer in the network, etc.), you will be asked if you want to allow or deny the
connection and several options appear:

What option should I select?
The following situations can arise:
 If you completely trust the program, allow it to connect. Click on Always
allow this connection. The warning will not be displayed again and the program
can communicate with the outside whenever it needs to.
 If the program is suspicious, do not allow it to connect to the Internet. There
          are two options:
                    o Always deny this connection
o Allow the connection this time only. Titanium 2006 will block
the connection. The next time the program tries to connect to the
Internet, you will be asked again if you want to allow the connection
                         or not.
 If you are not sure, don’t allow the connection. To do this, select Deny the
          connection this time only.
If you want to modify the permissions assigned through the pop-warning, you can do so
from the firewall protection settings.

Enable detection of intrusions via WiFi networks

The Titanium 2006 firewall blocks intrusion attempts via wireless networks (WiFi). When
an intruder attempts to access, a pop-up warning is displayed that allows you to
immediately block the attack.

This feature is enabled by default. Follow these steps to enable or disable this protection:
     1. Go to Settings and click on Automatic protection settings.
     2. Click on Firewall protection.
     3. Click on Advanced settings.
     4. To enable this feature, check Enable detection of WiFi intrusions. To disable it,
          clear the check box.
     5. Click on OK.
As an additional security measure, it is recommendable to correctly encrypt your wireless
network. For more information, refer to the documentation for the hardware components
 of your WiFi network.

Configuring detection of hacking tools and jokes, hoaxes and
script blocking

Titanium 2006 allows you to enable or disable the detection of the following types of
malicious software:
 Hacking tools: These are programs that are used by hackers to gain remote
          access to other computers.
 Jokes: These are not viruses and they do not have any destructive effects, but
pretend to do so. These are programs that trick the users into thinking that they
have been infected by a virus. To sum up they are jokes that aim to cause panic
and confusion and can therefore, indirectly cause damage to affected computers.
 Script blocking: Script refers to all files or sections of executable code written in
any programming language, such as Visual Basic Script (VBScript), JavaScript,
etc. Titanium 2006 can block dangerous scripts, if they pose a threat to your
computer. Titanium 2005 blocks scripts that attempt to run from the operating
system console and those that attempt to access the system through email
          messages.
 Hoax blocker: Hoaxes are fake email messages that warn of viruses that do not
exist. Sometimes, they even try to trick users into deleting certain files form their
computers by making them believe that they are viruses.

To enable or disable the detection of these types of malicious software, follow the steps
below:
     1. Go to the Settings menu.
     2. Click on Automatic protection settings.
     3. Select Antivirus protection.
     4. Click on Other advanced settings.

of malicious software. To do this, enable or disable the corresponding checkboxes.
     6. Click on OK.

Note: If you want Titanium 2006 not to neutralize hacking tools, you can exclude them from the scans
          or even disable their detection.

How to enable network virus warnings

Some viruses can get into your computer while you are connected to the Internet or local
networks without needing to use e-mail. These viruses are known as network viruses and
exploit different vulnerabilities in the software installed on your computer to install
themselves without your permission.

Titanium 2006 will prevent these kinds of viruses from getting into your computer through
the network. If you want Titanium 2006 to display a warning whenever it detects a
network virus that is accessing your computer, follow these steps:
   1. Access the Settings menu.
   2. Select the Automatic protection settings option.
   3. Click on Protection against unknown threats.
   4. Enable the Display warning on detecting malicious program checkbox by
        clicking on it.
   5. Click on OK.

                                                                                         35
Panda Titanium 2006 Antivirus + Antispyware

Warnings system

Titanium 2006 incorporates a complete warnings system, which will keep you informed on
the actions that are carried out at all times (detections, disinfections, updates, etc). These
warnings will pop up in the right hand corner of the screen and will disappear when you
close them.

Each of these warnings consists of two sections.
 The top section displays the warning by means of a title and an explanatory text.
 The lower section suggests several actions that you should take and allows you to
perform them simply by clicking on them.
The most common and most important warnings include the following:
 Titanium 2006 updated. This warning informs you that Titanium 2006 has been
updated successfully. When updating the Virus Signature File (updates), this
warning will inform you of the total number of threats the program can detect after
the update has taken place. If you have updated Titanium 2006, the new version
           number will be displayed.
 Update canceled. This warning informs you that Titanium 2006 could not be
updated. There are several reasons for this: incorrect username and/or password,
incorrect proxy authentication. In the last case, some options are displayed at the
bottom of the warning that allow you to check the proxy configuration and try
           again.
 Update interrupted. This warning informs you that the program could not be
updated successfully. One reason may be the lack of free disk space for the update
           to take place.
 Virus neutralized. It informs you that the antivirus has detected and neutralized a
virus in your computer. The warning displays the name of the virus it detected as
well as the directory in which it was detected.
 Virus detected. This warning informs you that a virus has been detected in your
computer, whose disinfection was impossible. This could be due to the fact that the
virus was detected in a CD-ROM or a write-protected floppy disk. This warning
displays the virus name and the directory in which it was detected.
 Virus disinfection in progress. This indicates an infected file has been detected
which is in use by the system. In these cases, you need to restart the system to
complete disinfection. There are two options at the bottom of the warning that
allow you to restart the computer at that moment or later.
 Vulnerability eliminated. This warning message informs you that a vulnerability
has been detected and fixed on your computer. The so-called vulnerabilities are
security holes in software programs, which can easily make computers vulnerable
           to viruses and hackers.
 Titanium 2006 self-diagnosis. It indicates the level of protection provided by
Titanium 2006 at a certain time. If this level is medium or low, the program will
show you the actions to perform in order to set a proper level of security.
 Dialer neutralized! This warning message is displayed when Titanium 2006
detects a software program capable of connecting to premium rate numbers
without your permission (action usually performed by the so-called dialers). This
warning will display the name of the dialer, its location, and it will allow you to
obtain more information about it, by clicking on the option Dialer information.
 Joke neutralized! This warning indicates that a program has been detected, which
is capable of simulating the damaging effects of viruses. Jokes are not viruses nor
do they have any destructive effects. They pretend to be destructive viruses, but in
fact they are just annoying practical jokes that may create confusion and have a
detrimental effect, as a result. This warning will display the name of the joke, its
location, and will give you the possibility of consulting more information by clicking
           on the option Joke information.

 Hoax detected. It is displayed when Titanium 2006 detects an e-mail message
with misleading content. This kind of messages attempt to spread false rumors
about non-existent viruses. Occasionally, they even trick users into deleting certain
legitimate system files, by making them believe that they are viruses. This warning
advises users to delete the message, and not to pay any attention to it.
 Suspicious program blocked. This warning indicates that Titanium 2006 has
blocked a program that might pose a threat to your computer. The warning displays
the name of the program blocked, as well as its location. In addition, it allows you
to send us the file blocked, so that it can be examined by our experts. In order to
send the file click on Send, and follow the instructions that will appear on the
     screen.

                                                                                          37
