Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines
“Voyager of the Seas”
October 2-11, 2010
Hosted by Gary Burbank
Join Gary Burbank, his wife Carol, and Provident Travel’s Herb Reisenfeld as we cruise the Mediterranean.
Our seven-night cruise is aboard Royal Caribbean’s “Voyager of the Seas,” sailing from Barcelona, Spain.
From the pure excitement of Monte Carlo to the ruins of ancient Rome, a trip to the Mediterranean will
transport you back to a time when the whole world looked to this area for inspiration, guidance and survival.
It won’t take long for you to see why. Each day you’ll have the option to tour these historic areas. With the
value of the dollar now low against the Euro, a cruise vacation is the most economical way to see the
Mediterranean. In addition to our ports of call, we will spend one in the beautiful city of Barcelona and Gary
Burbank is certain to entertain us with his friends, Gilbert Gnarley, Earl Pitts and his other radio buddies that
were on “The Big One” and syndicated stations for many years. Gary twice won the Marconi Award as large
market personality of the year.
The “Voyager of the Seas” offers the Royal Promenade, ice rink, full-service casino, Viking Crown Lounge,
big production shows, great food and outstanding service. You’ll certainly cruise in style while traveling
between these fascinating Mediterranean ports.
Ports of Call
Naples-Capri, Italy
Take a ride up the Amalfi Coast. With it’s ocean views and beautiful villas, it’s
one of the most breathtaking stretches of road in the world. Take a tour to one
of the most famous excavations in the world—the ruins of Pompeii. Go
shopping in the town of Sorrento.
Civitavecchia-Rome, Italy
Rome, The Eternal City, holds a lifetime of historical, architectural and spiritual
sites and adventures. Experience the history of Rome as you wander around
the Colosseum and Roman Forum and stand under the imposing arch of Titus.
Don’t leave Rome without visiting St. Peter’s Cathedral and the Sistine Chapel.
Livorno-Florence/Pisa, Italy
Florence is the birthplace of the Renaissance and thought by many to be
the most beautiful city in Italy. The city’s impressive piazzas and an
incomparable 15th century skyline offer a unique charm and unforgettable
experience. Visit the Church of Santa Croce, known as Italy’s Westminster
Abbey for all the Italian monarchy buried there. Get some gifts for home at
the Ponte Vecchio.
Villefranche-Monte Carlo/Cannes/Nice, France
Traveling along part of the Grand Prix Circuit, you’ll see the famous
beaches, quaint red-roofed villages and jet-set cities of the French Riviera.
Tour the Old Quarter of Monaco and visit the Palace Square. Visit one of
the oldest wine-making regions in France while touring a century-old
winery, The Chateau de Cremat. Here you’ll learn the fine art of
wine-making and, better yet, wine tasting! It’s an opportunity to see for
yourself why France is world-renowned for it’s wine. Visit the medieval
villages of Eze or St. Paul De Vence.
Toulon-Provence, France
Squeezed tightly between the mountains and the sea, Toulon is the capital
of France’s Var region, an area characterized by its mountainous landscape,
fortified medieval villages, and original Greek and Roman influences. It’s
said that Toulon is located on the most beautiful and well protected natural
harbor in Europe and has been, and continues to be, a center of French
naval dominance. This area contains the fascinating towns of Arles where
you’ll find Roman ruins and Les Baux, a medieval village with shops and a
magnificent view overlooking the valley below.
