Introduction

Drupal is a content management, web application framework and
blogging engine. It is used by many high-traffic websites, including the
The Onion, Spread Firefox, Ourmedia, Kernel Trap and the New York
Observer. It is particularly popular for building online communities, and
has the tag line "Community plumbing". Drupal is written in PHP.

Drupal has a basic layer, or core, which supports pluggable modules
enable additional behaviors. The modules available for Drupal provide a
wide assortment of features, including e-commerce such as the Amazon
Items module, work-flow, photo galleries, maiing list management and
CVS integration.
HOW TO EDIT YOUR NAVIGATIONS

Go to Administer >>> Site Building >>> Menus.
Here you can “edit" to change the title, description, parent or weight of
a menu item.

Use the "add menu" tab to submit a title for a new custom menu.

 "add menu item" tab to create new links in either the navigation or a
custom menu (such as a primary/secondary links menu).

Note: Select the parent item to place the new link within an existing
menu structure.

When you added new menu (secondary link), you need to select which
region of the webpage to appear, for example in the sidebar.


HOW TO CONFIGURE WHAT BLOCK CONTENT APPEARS IN YOUR SITES
sidebar, header or footer?

Go to Administer >>> Site Building >>> Blocks. Here you can position
blocks by specifying which area of the page they should appear in (e.g., a
sidebar). You can specify where within a region a block will appear by
adjusting its weight. Only enabled blocks are shown.


HOW CAN I COSTUMIZE THE URL OF MY DRUPAL SITE?

You need to enable the Path module that allows admin to rename the
URL. To enable URL aliases go to Administer >>> Site Building
>>>Modules then check the Path module and save configuration.

Note: There is no need to put slash (/) in the beginning of the URL
HOW TO ADD MODULES TO YOUR DRUPAL SITE?


* You can download Drupal modules at
http://drupal.org/project/Modules

* Unzip the file and upload it to your ftp panel in the module folder

* Then go to your site and enable the module

Administer>>> Site Building >>>Modules>>> Check the modules you are
going to enable

Note: Some modules require other Drupal plug-ins before you can enable
it.

* You can configure the permission for the specific module at the

HOW INSTALL NEW THEMES?

Download a new theme package. Note that themes must be compatible to
your drupal version. Meaning, versionl 5.1 theme is only compatible to
Drupal 5.1.

HOW TO ADD CONTENT OR CREATE A PAGE?

* Go to Administer >>> Content Management >>>Create Content
TIP: You can use this URL http://www.yoursite.com/node/add to directly
access to add content page. (Just add node/add to the URL of your drupal
site)

* Select the type of content

* Before submitting the page don’t forget to choose PHP code in input
format and check promoted to the front page if you want to post the
content to the homepage.

HOW TO CONTROL THE TEASER LOCATION?
You can end the teaser at the point of your choice by adding <!--break-->
to your content. Everything above this tag will appear in the teaser.



HOW TO CATEGORIZE THE POST?
There is a ‘category’ module that allows you to structure your site into a
tree-like hierarchy of pages, and to classify your dynamic content, all
within one seamless interface. It is built upon the foundations of the core
book and taxonomy modules, and it provides all of the functionality of
these two modules, and much more, to help you in customizing the
navigational experience of your Drupal site. You can download the

To add categories go to ADMINISTER >>> Content Management >>>
Categories then create container where you will put all your categories
and published it. (Remember: No need to publish in front if you don’t
want to post it in front of the page).
HOW TO ADD AFFILIATE BANNERS?

the right side of the page:

HOW TO CHANGE/EDIT SITE’S INFORMATION

Go to ADMINISTER >> under site configuration there is site information
where you can change basic site information, such as the site name,
slogan, e-mail address, mission, footer and more.


HOW TO SET YOUR SITES 403 AND 404 ERROR PAGES

Drupal error messages are direct to the point, BUT you can customize
your page error messages to make it more user-friendly.

   Create node for each kind of the page error (1 node for 403 and 1
    for 404). Write your customized error page message.
   Determine the node number you wish to have Drupal redirect users
    to. The node number is the number after the last slash of the page
    URL.
   Go to Administer >>>Site Configuration >>> Error Reporting >>>
    Enter the nodes number to the appropriate boxes. If the node
    number is 45 you would type “node/45”
WHAT IF I WANT TO DISABLE THE “USER LOG-IN” IN THE HOMEPAGE?

Go to Administer >>>Site Building >>> Blocks and then change the region
of the user log-in to ‘<none>’.
