The cost to mail a magazine will increase on January 17, 2006, by a weighted average of 2.9%.
Increases are higher than CPI, but the rate of increase has eased for heavier magazines
compared to previous years, with most magazines 300 to 600 grams up 3.2% to 3.8%.
For magazines using LCP sort, the cost per copy will increase:
-- 1 cent for up to 200 grams
-- 2 cents at 300 grams
-- 3 cents at 400 grams
-- 4 cents at 500 grams or more
For magazines using NDG National sort, the cost per copy will increase:
-- 1 cent for up to 100 grams
-- 2 cents at 150 grams
-- 3 cents at 300 grams
-- 4 cents at 400 grams
-- 5 cents at 500 grams
-- 6 cents at 600 grams

Note that costs for samples, promotional and novelty items will also increase, by 1 cent.
