HOPEWELL TOWNSHIP, N.J.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--The Board of Directors of Hopewell Valley
Community Bank (PinkSheets: HWDY) announced that it has increased the size of its Board from nine to ten
members and elected Gregory Church of Upper Makefield, Pennsylvania, to the Board. Mr. Church brings to the
position over two decades of impressive accomplishment in the financial world.

Mr. Church was the Chief Investment Officer of New Jersey National Bank prior to establishing Church Capital
Management in 1987. The firm managed over $2 billion in assets under management and served a client base of
financial institutions, corporations, pension plans, and high net worth individuals.

In 1994, Mr. Church oversaw the formation of Bainbridge Securities Inc., a broker-dealer and sister company to
Church Capital Management. Bainbridge, a full-service brokerage firm, provided a platform for institutional block
trading, direct access to fixed income securities, 401K plans, and bank and retail brokerage. The vertical integration
of these two companies expanded the reach of the enterprise to a highly diversified client base and was the basis for
significant profitability.

Church Capital and Bainbridge were acquired in 2003 by a regional bank. Following the acquisition, Mr. Church
was made President of that bank’s trust company and assumed executive responsibility for the bank’s high net worth
group. His responsibilities encompassed investment services, securities brokerage, and trust. In the trust area, he had
direct responsibility for personal trust administration, sales, the employee benefit group, and operations.

Mr. Church has also established himself as a known commentator for regional and national media. His views on the
markets were sought by the major financial television outlets and print media including: Bloomberg, CNBC, Fox
Business, CNN, Wall Street Journal, Fortune, Forbes, and Business Week.

Mr. Church also is on the Board of Trustees of Rider University where he is a member of the Executive Committee.
He earned his MBA and BS degrees in Finance from Rider.

Chairman Patrick L. Ryan and President/CEO, James Hyman, commented: “We are delighted to have Greg joining
us in this new role. His experience and background are an excellent fit as we look to continue our upward trends and
build on the name recognition and good reputation we have established over the 11 year history of HVCBank.
