So you want to know how to increase your vertical jump? Its not the
easiest thing in the world to do but there are tons of exercises to help
you reach your goals. As long as you work at it, you're sure to add a
couple of inches to your vertical within a matter of weeks.
Here are a few exercises that you could do:
1) Warm Up The Muscles To Help Jump Higher
Just like all physical activities, warming up and stretching your muscles
is essential in order to prevent injury and to help maximize your
potential. Warm up exercises include jumping rope for a few minutes,
jogging for a few minutes, or running up and down some stairs for a few
minutes.
Make sure you don't wear yourself out with these warm up exercises.
2) Deep Knee Bends
This could be one of the best tips on how to increase vertical jump.
Stand and Slowly bend the knees while keeping your back straight. Go
down as far as possible while crouching and then slowly rise back up
again.
Do this exercise 15 times and over time as you get better, increase the
repetitions. As you continue to get better, hold weighted dumb-bells by
your side and squat. This will help to increase your muscle strength and
increase your vertical jump.
3) Deep Knee Bend Jumps
This is the same thing as the Deep Knee Bends except for when you
reach the bottom of your crouch, you leap upwards. Once you land,
crouch back down immediately and jump back up. This is another great
technique on how to increase vertical jump.
Do this exercise 15 times and as you get better, increase the amount of
repetitions. To make this workout more challenging, hold a medicine ball
while jumping. This addition will focus on the muscle more and will help
increase your vertical jump over time.
Continue to practice these jumping techniques and over time you will
see that you have some great workouts and you know how to increase
your vertical jump.
