Cloud Charts
Objective: To make models of different cloud types. Materials: Markers 2 pieces of construction paper Cotton Balls Glue Procedure 1. Title your chart “Clouds in the Troposphere” 2. Begin by dividing your paper vertically into Low, Middle, and High. 3. Cut out four pieces of paper for your four clouds types. You will be creating a flippable area for each cloud type so that you can write under the clouds. 4. Make various types of clouds by gluing different amounts of cotton onto the construction paper. Here are some tips to get started: 5. Pulling the cotton into thin, wispy strands can make cirrus clouds. 6. To make a cumulus cloud, puff up a ball of cotton and paste it on the paper. 7. For a stratus cloud, cut off a piece from the sheet cotton, pull the layers apart, and glue it to the paper. 8. Use the black marker to turn some clouds into cumulonimbus precipitation clouds. 9. Under each flappable area, indicate the type of weather associated with each cloud and a description.
