                                 Scholarship Pageant!
      The Miss Woodstock Pageant is sponsored annually by the Woodstock Chamber of Commerce and
Industry. This is the 61st year for the pageant – proof of its stature in the community. Miss Woodstock is
not just another pretty face! Miss Woodstock must demonstrate true commitment and grace as she
represents the City of Woodstock and the Woodstock Chamber at many community and chamber events
throughout her year of reign.
      Not only is this pageant a great opportunity to win scholarship money, but the contestants will make
lifelong friends, receive valuable training and just have fun! The pageant this year will be limited to 12
contestants. Please read through the rules and regulations carefully. If you have any questions, please

                                              Prizes
 Miss Woodstock 2009
    Receives a $2,000 Educational scholarship payable upon proof of acceptance and
    registration for college (*terms apply). If Miss Woodstock 2009 chooses not to pursue
    continuing education, a $2,000 savings bond will then be awarded.

                              Pageant Entry Requirements
                                    Miss Woodstock 2009

  All applications are subject to the review and approval of the Miss Woodstock
      Scholarship Pageant Committee. All decisions of the Miss Woodstock
                      Scholarship Pageant Committee are final.
JUDGING
    Pageant contestants are judged in the following five (5) areas.

        Individual Interviews (30 pts.) are conducted IN PRIVATE for five minutes with the
        judges prior to the pageant event. All other judging takes place during the actual
        pageant. A dress or business suit (business attire) is required for the individual
        interviews held before the actual pageant.

        On Stage Question (15 pts.): Overall response to impromptu question provided by
        judges as chosen by contestant on stage.

        Evening Gown (10 pts.): Tea- or floor-length gowns; gowns are the responsibility of
        the candidates, subject to approval (see below). NOTE: The Miss McHenry County
        Pageant requires floor-length gowns and beige dress shoes.

        Sponsor Speech Segment (30 pts.): Two (2) minutes maximum duration. The
        Scholarship Pageant Committee will assist you with the preparation; a dress or
        business suit (business attire) is required.

        Active Wear (10 pts.): Each contestant will be given a stipend to purchase a pair of
         shorts to be worn with Miss Woodstock Contestant t-shirt (provided). This outfit will
         be worn in the pageant’s opening segment. Contestants will be judged on fit and form.


NOTE:   All clothing required for the pageant is subject to the review and approval of the Miss
        Woodstock Scholarship Pageant Committee.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

1. Contestants must be: a) live within the boundaries of Woodstock Community Unit School
   District 200; b) between the ages of 17 and 21 ;c) single, never married; d) have been
   residents of Woodstock for at least one (1)year prior to attending college, if currently
   enrolled in college and, e) a US Citizen f) no children g) no criminal record
2. Miss Woodstock 2009 must be to able to meet the eligibility requirements of the Miss
   McHenry County Pageant if she so chooses to participate and must be able to fulfill all
   obligations - including appearances at local parades such as Woodstock’s Memorial Day
   Parade, the Harvard Milk Day Parade and the Dick Tracy Days Parade, local City Band
   Concerts, Woodstock Business Expo, Lighting of the Square and other chamber functions.

3. Miss Woodstock 2009 has the option to represent the City of Woodstock in the Miss
   McHenry County contest held during the McHenry County Fair.
    If Miss Woodstock 2009 should decided to participate and win the Miss McHenry County
    Contest, she will represent the McHenry County Fair Association in the Miss Illinois County
    Fair Contest held in January of the following year.

4. All contestants are sponsored by a local member of the Woodstock Business Community
   through the Woodstock Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The Pageant Committee is
   happy to arrange a sponsor for a contestant should she not have one when she enters the
   pageant.

5. Previous Miss Woodstock Pageant winners are NOT ELIGIBLE to compete. You may enter
   the pageant again if you competed in a past pageant but did not win the title of Miss
   Woodstock.

6. All Contestants must attend all scheduled activities, meetings and/or rehearsals. Upon
   acceptance of a contestant’s application, she will receive a calendar of events at our first
   group meeting. These meetings and rehearsals are designed to prepare each contestant for
   all aspects of the competition and is therefore imperative that each contestant put forth the
   effort to attend. Attendance will be used as a tie breaker for the title of Miss Woodstock.

7. Please submit one photograph (no picture phone photos please)for identification purposes.
   It should be attached to the official entry form.

                             Sponsorship Options
This is the 61st year for the Miss Woodstock Pageant. Sponsorship is available in the categories listed below.

        1. Sponsor a Contestant:                                         Cost: $300 (Chamber members)
                                                                       $400 (Non-Chamber members)

        A. 1/3 page advertisement in the full color program booklet. **
        B. Contestant represents your business at all functions including parades, Chamber
           Mixers, media coverage, and a sponsor speech.
        C. The sponsor will be invited to a networking mixer. An opportunity to get your
            Business promoted in the community.
        D. An invitation to the private pre-pageant reception.
        E. Two complimentary tickets to the Pageant.

        2. Sponsor an Event:                                    Cost: $500

        A. This sponsorship is for the purpose of hosting an after-hours business mixer and is
           the kick-off event for the Miss Woodstock contestants.
        B. A 1/2-page ad in the full color program booklet. **
        C. An invitation to the private pre-pageant reception.
        D. Two complimentary tickets to the pageant.
        E. On screen advertisement pre-pageant while guests enter the venue
        F. Print and online media coverage. Chamber representative acknowledgement the evening of the
        pageant.

        3. Sponsor the Scholarship (only one available).                 Cost: $2,000

        A.   Receive the full inside cover of the program booklet. **
        B.   Full media acknowledgment in all coverage (posters, newsprint, web).
        C.   Invitation to the networking mixer.
        D.   Hole sponsorship at Chamber annual golf outing.
        E.   An invitation to the private pre-pageant reception.
        E.   Two complimentary tickets to the Pageant.
