Indian Tourist Visas
Outsourcing of Indian Visa Applications started from 29th May 2008
With effect from 29th May 2008, collection of visa applications and their delivery has been outsourced by High Commission of
India to VF Services UK Ltd. (http://in.vfsglobal.co.uk) and now they will accept visa applications only through VF Service UK
Naturetrek recommends CIBT Visa Service to assist you in applying for your Indian tourist visa.
If you wish to apply through CIBT then please send the following documents by post to CIBT, PO Box 61745, London SW1V
1UT Tel: 0207 8021000 or 0844 800 4650 or use the envelope provided and send it by Special Delivery with your name & full
postal address on the outside of the envelope. The postal application will take approximately 10 to 15 working days:
1. The completed application form in Black Ink and BLOCK letters.
2. Completed CIBT clients form.
3. Two recent passport size photographs. The photos should be taken against a light background (white or off-white); Un
mounted - 45 mm x 35 mm in size; should show full face (without sunglasses, hat or cap) and the face should be in the
middle of the frame.
4. Payment for visa application including consular fees, handling fees and VAT of £69.55 plus £6.40 per household for
postage (CIBT accepts only credit or debit card payments). The visa starts from the date of issue and is normally valid for

Please visit the website of VFS Global on http://in.vfsglobal.co.uk and apply for an Indian visa in simple four-step process.
Step 1: Complete the Application Online
Click on the Apply online link on the Menu bar of the home page.
Follow the instructions to fill the online form.
After completing the form, you will be directed to pay the fee (£30 + £9.05 – subject to change any time) online (if you don't
want to pay the fee online, you may proceed by choosing the appropriate option at this stage, although we would advise
you to pay online; it's also secure).
Subsequently, you will be shown a calendar and asked to choose a date to submit your application at the Visa Application
Centre, addresses below, (if you don't want to take an appointment, you may proceed by choosing the appropriate option at
this stage, but we strongly advise you to take an appointment to avoid unnecessary queues and delays).
Once you choose the date, you will get an appointment to submit the application and you will be asked to print the
appointment letter generated by the system.
You also have to take a printout of the visa application form that you have filled online and the acknowledgement of the fee
paid online. The system will prompt you at the required stage to take these printouts. Please remember to sign the printed
Step 2: Prepare your Application Kit
Two passport-size photographs. For photo specifications, please see point (3) as above.
Printed visa application form with signature, fee acknowledgement and appointment letter.
Valid passport. (minimum validity of 190 days)
Step 3: Submit your Application
Visit the India Visa Application Centre 15 minutes before the appointed time and submit your application over the counter or
you could submit your application by post (see below)
Step 4: Collect your Passport
You can collect your passport from the Visa Application Centre where you have submitted your application.
You can also choose to get your passport returned by post at the Application Centre and avoid a second trip.
If you have opted for postal return, the passport will be mailed to your address. Please provide them self addressed Special
Delivery Envelope (SDE) for return of processed passports. Please remember maximum two processed passports shall be
returned in one envelope. Hence, as an example, for a family of three please include two SDEs.
Applications submitted in London and Birmingham will take minimum 2 to 3 working days to get processed.

To apply for an Indian visa by post, just follow the simple Instructions below:
Step 1: Complete your application form online on http://in.vfsglobal.co.uk.
Step 2: Pay the visa fee (£30) and service charges (£9.05) online along with the optional postal charges (£7.40) for the return of
your passport. These charges are subject to change any time.
Step 3: Take a printout of your online application (remember to sign your application form) and print your online receipt.
Step 4: Collect the two passport-size photographs of the specified dimensions (please see point 3 as above), valid passport
along with the printed and signed visa application form and online receipt and send it to the respective Visa Application Centre
(as per the county jurisdiction) by post in a secure envelope.

Postal applications need approximately 15 working days to be processed. This does not include the period they are in transit to
and from the High Commission or the Consulate General
