ICMR Awards for Popular Medical Books in Hindi
Dr. Yatish Aggarawal, a doctor in the Safdarjung Hospital, has bagged the first prize for his original book in Hindi ‘Diabetes Kay Saath Jeenay Key Rah’ announced by Indian Council of Medical Research. It carries a cash award of fifty thousand rupees. The second prize of thirty thousand rupees has been given to Dr. Manoj Sharma of Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi for his book ‘Stan Cancer Samast Jankaari Hee Labhkaari’ and the third prize carrying a cash award of 20 thousand rupees has been equally shared by Dr.Sanjay Ahuja and Dr. Aparna Ahuja for their book ‘Aankhein- Rog Aur Sawdhanian’, written jointly. The awards will be presented later in a ceremony to be organized at ICMR. Indian Council of Medical of Medical Research introduced this year the ‘ICMR Puraskaar for popular Medical Books’ and invited books published originally in Hindi in the last three years, for evaluation. A committee of judges comprising senior scientists and doctors evaluated the books for the biennium awards for the year 2004-05.
