Canadian Children's Literature Awards: RED CEDAR BOOK AWARDS Began 1998. Annual. British Columbians between grade 4 and 7 vote on their favourite titles in a fiction and information book category. The nomination list is announced at the annual spring BCLA conference and reading begins during Canadian Children's Book Week in November. Voting follows in April with an awards banquet in May. Voters must belong to a registered reading group to vote.
