Come to the Library for books on your school’s summer reading list. Librarians can also recommend other books you might like.

Books On The Move

Summer Reading Game
The annual summer reading game at the Library encourages school vacation reading for children through grade 6. Pick-up your “Books On The Move” summer reading game travel kit starting June 21st (one kit per child, please). Travel kits include a reading log to keep track at home, postcards to mail back to us, activity sheets, stickers, a luggage tag that we will stamp when children come to the Library to get more books or attend a program, and more!

Fun Programs to Encourage Reading
See the reverse of this flyer for our summer program calendar (program descriptions are below). There will be no programs offered in August, when the Children’s Library will move across the hall as the first step in our expansion project.

Don’t miss out on these great opportunities to motivate children to read! Studies have shown that children who read over summer vacation can increase a reading grade level, or lose a grade level if they don’t read at all.
