							Lost Books: Haggai January 17-18, 2009 The Main Thing The message of Haggai is that if we move toward God, we will see Him, and our hearts will begin to change. Throughout history, God has called on his people to sacrifice; although there is always a reason not to give, we find the money for what we love. • • Absence of self-awareness hinders greatness. Obedience increases the likelihood of abundance.

Our Scripture Focus Haggai 1:1-11; Ephesians 2:14-22. Questions for Discussion 1. Haggai 1:7: “Give careful thought to your ways.” When you read this verse, what aspect of your life comes to mind? What concrete step can you take this week to turn your life in a new direction? 2. In what area of your life do you think you are most successful? How many hours have you put in to prepare for that success? Have you put a comparable effort into your relationship with God? If not, what concrete step can you take this week to “put in more repetitions” in your relationship with God? 3. Do you sacrifice financially for anything outside of yourself and your immediate family? If not, make a financial contribution this week to a cause or organization that you believe in.
