The main characters in this book are… Abby, who has red curly hair and is in fifth grade, Isabel, a girl who loves nail polish and makeup, Eva, who loves sports, and Jessica who is Abby’s best friend. The setting of this book is at Abby’s, school, in her backyard, at the park, at the soccer field, and at her house. Summary… Abby is not like anybody in her family. Her sister, Isabelle loves nail polish and makeup. Her sister Eva loves to play sports and all the teachers love her and Isabel. Eva can play sports very well but Abby wishes she could do the same. She thinks by the time she is done with soccer season, she will be a soccer star. I thought the book was fun to read. The main characters in this book are… Klaus, a good book reader who knows everything, Sunny, who has four sharp teeth, Violet, an inventor and the oldest of the siblings, Count Olaf, who wants the Bauldivere fortune. Summary… The story begins on the beach when the Baldelaires are told that their parents died in a fire accident. They had to go live with their relative, Count Olaf but they had no idea who he was. When the children met him he was nice to them but after everybody left, he made them do chores and make dinner for them. The setting for this book is Redwall Abbey, the North Shore, and the airship. The Gorleech/all over the ocean in the past. The main characters in this book are: - Luke the Warrior who is Martin the Warrior’s father and slave upon the Gorleech. -Martin of Redwall who is a warrior mouse and also the brains behind Redwall. -Gouff, Prince of Mousethieves/joins Martin on his uest. Vile Dashar, who is an evil state captain of the Gorleech. Summary: In part one of the story, Martin goes on a quest to the North Shores with his friend, Gouff. When they get there they encounter Vurg and Beau and go into the airship. Then some of the mice tell Martin the past.

Setting: In the beginning of the book it is in the ghettos of Washington D.C. The middle of the story is set in the main character’s grandmother Hudson’s beautiful house. The ending is set in the hospital where the main character’s foster mother died. Main Characters: Rain – she had one sister and a brother. Main character of the book Mrs. Hudson – Rain’s grandmother that she came to live with. Victoria – Rain’s aunt. She’s not very nice to Rain. Megan – Rain’s real mother Summary: Rain Arnold grew up around drugs and gangs. She lives in a place called the projects. One night, something happens to Beni, her younger sister, and Rain tries to help her get out of it. Rain and Beni pawn jewelry to get money to help Beni out. But then Beni gets stabbed to death by the people they were trying to give the money to. Then later on the girl’s at her school set her on fire. Finally, her mom gets tired of it and she tells her oldest son to join the army. Rain found out about how she wasn’t actually a part of the family she has always known. So, the woman she thought was her mom isn’t and she meets her real mom. Then she starts to live with her real mother’s mother. The book doesn’t have a real ending because it is part of a series. I liked the book because V.C. Andrews is a good writer. Plus, she does hit the mark about what happens in rund down areas or “ghettos” of Washington D.C. Setting: An island in the Chesapeak Bay. Vietnam during the War and Baltimore. Main Characters: Kelly – an ex-marine Pam – a young girl Sandy – a nurse Summary: Kelly is an ex-marine. His wife dies in a car accident and he meets a girl named pam who gets killed as well. Kelly then avenges her death. At the same time, he is called back to duty. Setting: Stargirl’s school most of the time, the football field too. Once at stargirl’s house and sometimes at Lea’s house. Main Characters Stargirl – She’s the main character and she really fit in Leo – he’s the second main character and around the middle of the booik he becomes Stargirl’s boyfriend Cinnamon – Stargirl’s pet rat, he’s in the book a lot Kevin – Leo’s best friend, he’s the host on their TV show,” hot seat.” Summary: At the beginninfg of school, Leo hears “did you see her?” a lot. So, he starts to wonder “See who?” In the middle of lunch, he finally sees Stargirl. From then on, Leo kind o fwatches her. Around the middle of the book, stargirl becomes popular and cool and hip. A few chapters later,
everybody dislikes her because she is different and weird. She wears unusual outfits and she carries a rat around. So, Leo tries to make her cool again. He takes her shopping and she buys only things with designer tags. That doesn’t fly with everybody else. There’s a very interesting ending. I liked this book because most of Jerry Spinelli’s books are very interesting. This book described how middle school is. I think that the way Spinelli portrays this middle school is very close to the way most middle schools are. Kailey by Amy Goldman Koss Setting: The setting is at the beach. The very end of the story takes place at the diner.
Main Characters: Kailey – blonde hair, ten years old, loves tide pools and body boarding Tess – Brown hair, ten years old, loves body boarding Dad – good artist, has very popular business Mr. Drake – guy from the building complex Summary – This story is about a girl who loves body boarding, snorkeling, and looking at the tide pools as the waves wash in and out. One day she goes to the beach and she notices a sign in the ground that reads “Coming Soon! Commercial cove resory phase one. Phase one, an exclusive ocean front entertainment experience.” Kailey, Tess, and her father were shocked. I liked the book because there was a lot of action in the book. Dreamland by: Sarah Dessen Setting: The football field and the gym for the cheerleading stuff, Corrina and David’s house, where Catlyn spent most of her time, Catlyn’s room, her car, and Rogerson’s car were the settings for this book. Main Characters: Catlyn – a cheerleader and Rena’s best friend Rogerson – Catlyn’s boyfriend, not very nice Rena – Catlyn’s best friend, also a cheerleader Cassie – Catlyn’s sister, ran away on Catlyn’s sixteenth birthday. Summary: Catlyn meets Rogerson at a party for the footall and cheerleading teams. From then on, Rogerson and Catlyn start to date. Cassie, Catlyn’s sister, ran away and Catlyn thinks that is the only reason she hangs with Rogerson. When Rogerson introduced Corinna to Catlyn they became very good friends. That’s when she starts using drugs. Things are going smooth for a little while until one night Catlyn is late to meet Rogerson and she then said something wrong. Main Characters: Peter – oldest of the children Lucy – Peter’s sister, also has a sister named Susan Edmund – Peter’s brother Aslan – ruler of Narnia Summary Peter, Lucy, Edmund, and Susan are cooped up in a huge house far away from home. Because of the war, they may not be in London. Lucy discovers a magic wardrobe and finds that it leads to Narnia. There she finds a very good adventure waiting for her and her siblings. Skeleton Key by: Anthony Horowitz Setting: Wimbledon in London, England, Miami, Floria, Dkeleton Key and Murmanck. Main Characters: Alex Rider – a teenage spy for a secret group called MIG Alexi Sarov – Russian General with a nuclear bomb Glen Carver – CIA agent that pretends to be Alex’s father Belinda Troy – CIA agent pretending to be Alex’s mom Summary - Alex Rider is a spy for MIG but now the CIA needs him for a topsecret mission on an island called Skeleton Key. He’s with two CIA agents
and they plan on infiltrating a mansion owned by a Russian General named Alexi Sarov. The two CIA agents are looking for a nuclear bomb! Serov plans on taking the bomb and blowing it up on Murmamsk, Russia, in an old nuclear submarine harbor. This would wipe out everything west of Murmansk including Great Britain (Alex’s country) This book is one of my favorite books yet! Teacher’s Pet by: Richie Tankersley Cusick Setting: A camp. Main Characers Kate – main characters. She won a writing contest and her teacher took her to a writing conference. Pearce – He takes care of the camp and grounds Gideon – Main – he wrote a book and gave it to his brother to put his name on William – Kate’s favorite author but he never shows up Summary: Kate wins a contest to go to a writing conference with her teacher. She write short, horror stories and her favorite author is Silliam Drew who is supposed to be teaching where his brother, Gideon, teachers. When Kate gets there, she meets Denzil and Tawney. Soon after getting there, everything goes wrong. Kate’s swimsuite and shirt get torn apart by someone. Her cabin gets messed up because people were searching through her clothes and slashed all her pillows. They also kill some kind of animal in her shower and there is blood everywhere when she discovers the scene. Her cabin then gets burned down and her teacher gets poison ivy and is sent to the hospital because she swells to twice her normal size.
I liked this book because I love horror stories and this one was really creepy. I never knew what was going to happen so the ending was very unexpected. Recommended by: Kimberly Engle This book was… Easy to read just right to read a little difficult too hard
Second Marking Period Armor by John Steakley Setting: Banshee, an alient planet. On a government research facility on a distant planet. Main Characters: Felix – an exguardian. He is a scout on banshee and he fights ants. Jack Crow – a great friend to Holly, who escapes jail. Holly – a man, one of the Einsteins of the twentysecond country. Cya – Holly’s assistant and girlfriend. Summary: Felix was a superior guard for the king, Masao, but after a freak accident on a ship, his wife was killed because of a leak in the spaceship. Felix joined the war as a scout. I liked this book because it was action packed and it was incredible to see Felix fight the endless number of manufactured ants. Main Characters: Julie – she is being stalked by Richard. Richard – stalks Julie/her ex boyfriend Mike – Julie’s new boyfriend Singer – Julie’s dog Summary: Julie starts dating Richard until he becomes to controlling and she breaks up with him. He starts stalking her as she starts dating Mike. Julie’s dog singer is a great protector from Richard for Julie.
