Napoleon Hill – Think & Grow Rich Women Internet Marketers - For serious internet marketing women Diane Corriette – Founder of Women Internet Marketers The internet offers an opportunity to reach a wide market if you are effective in how you market your business. The best thing is your “shop” never has to close. It will be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to anyone that chooses to visit. Not only is the potential for customers huge, but the number of areas you can focus on online is also huge, and this article only provides a small “flavour” of some of the things you can do. Affiliate Marketing - This involves you selling the products of a supplier. Its one of the more popular things to do when you start out online because you don’t need your own product, and many affiliates don’t own their own website. When you sell goods on behalf of a supplier they give you a commission based fee. It makes for a great start because they take care of all the customer service and delivery of the product. The downside of affiliate marketing is the fact that you never earn as much as someone who actually owns the product. Niche Marketing – Niche marketing is basically marketing your website to a particular group of people in one area. Let’s say you decide to write an information product on how to build a pond; this is called a niche market. You are not talking about knitting, or how to improve your golf swing so you will not want to market to those people. Women Internet Marketers - For serious internet marketing women Focusing on one niche and selling to people within that niche is a great way to earn an online income. Membership Sites – Imagine taking everything you know on how to build a pond, filming yourself as you build and then creating it into videos. Interviewing pond and fish experts and turning them into audios. Then putting all that information into a membership area where people pay to gain access. 500 members paying a monthly fee of $10 to get access to this membership site is a nice chunk of change! Your site could charge a one-off fee, a yearly fee or a monthly fee (or all 3!) Websites/Google Information Websites/Google Adsense - Google provide adverts that can be placed on your website, when someone clicks on this advert you get money (don't get any ideas about clicking it yourself, Google monitor that and ban you forever!). What has become popular is to have a site that contains articles on a particular topic, e.g. Looking after a kitten; and the adverts will reflect the topic, so there may be adverts on vets, insurance, food especially for kittens, etc etc. As this information site will help people they are more likely to read the article and then click on one of the adverts or buy a product.. Network Marketing - Network Marketing or multi-level marketing (mlm) is an area that is well known offline as well as online. Amway is one of the leading network marketing companies, and now, there are a host of opportunities to get into online. Network marketing works because it uses leverage. The more people you introduce and help them to introduce others the more money you make. Women Internet Marketers - For serious internet marketing women The difficulty can be in just getting people involved and then keeping them interested enough to learn how to replicate your success. But if you manage that network marketing is definitely a great income generating opportunity. The key is to find a reputable company with years of experience, or a new company with solid backing both financially and in terms of the people who support the business. Finally.... Turnkey Businesses - A turnkey business (also called plugin) is a business that provides everything for you. You will usually be given a product, a website and/or some training/tools in how to market. Some turnkey businesses offer incentives to be paid if you recruit others to take up the opportunity. This is a great way to get started because you have everything you need. It is definitely important to look for a company that provides you with help and support. There are many home based business opportunities and I encourage you to research and find out which one works best for you before getting yourself involved in one. I also encourage you to focus on one (or two at the most) and enjoy earning a living from them before moving on to running another business. About Diane Corriette Diane is a mother of 3 living in London, England. As well as Women Internet Marketers at http://www.wimsite.com which includes a membership site, social network and online magazine, she also sells How To Booklets at http://www.howtobooklets.net and runs the Personal Growth Podcast Directory at http://www.personalgrowthpodcastdirectory.com Women Internet Marketers - For serious internet marketing women Found-Creative Work Isn’t Found-- It’s Made By Bonnie Boots I could tell at a glace my waitress was a frustrated creative soul. She had intelligence, wit and personality plus. Her funny observations, whispered in a low voice as she served lunch, had my friend and I laughing out loud, yet the look on our server’s face was one of pure discontent. Her shift ended just as our meal did, so I invited her to join us. “What is it you LOVE to do?” I asked “Sing!” she exclaimed. “I’m good at it, too. I sing a couple nights a week at a nightclub, just for tips, and people really like me! I’d love to make a living at it, but I never see any jobs for singers in the want ads. In fact, I’ve decided to give up and get a real estate license. If I can’t do what I love, I may as well do something that makes more money than this.” She looked derisively around the dining room. In her expression, I saw myself at her age, young, talented, enthusiastic, and with absolutely no idea how to make a living from my creative gifts. Now, a lifetime later, as a successful writer and designer, I know the ropes of making your own way as a creative professional. In a few minutes, I easily sketched out an action plan that could successfully take my new friend from waitress to paid vocalist. But there’s a roadblock. Women Internet Marketers - For serious internet marketing women One thing stands in the way of this gifted singer realizing her dream: her concept of herself. She thinks of herself as an employee, thinks of singing as a job she’d like to get. To alter her life, she’ll need to alter her outlook. She must begin thinking of herself as a self-employed businessperson, think of her singing as a service she sells. With that new perspective, she’ll be empowered to call on nightclubs and restaurants, wedding and party planners and offer her services as a unique entertainer. I’ve worked with creative professionals for decades. I’ve interviewed successful authors, artists, sculptors, actors, designers, contemporary craftspeople and every sort of creative personality. One thing they all had in common was an understanding that they were self-employed business people. As such, it was their responsibility to do all the things a business owner does: define what their product is, determine who might buy the product, plan a marketing program to get the attention of potential buyers and plan finances to carry the business until it shows a profit. If you’ve been trapping yourself in dead-end jobs that don’t use your creative abilities, you can begin breaking free by making a change in your reading habits. Buy fewer books on writing or painting or dancing, and pick up a book on the basics of running your own business. Don’t shy away from information on branding, marketing and business planning. It all applies to you. Women Internet Marketers - For serious internet marketing women “Running your own business” doesn’t mean you have to put on a suit and carry a briefcase. In fact, being self-employed can be a highly creative activity. As in any creative activity, you’ll make something unique, not a novel or a painting or a song, but satisfying work for yourself. "Lights!" … and then just stopped there? What's missing and what would be the result? There would be no action and therefore, there would be no movie! I'm not a huge movie fan but for you movie fans out there, I know you'd be distraught. But guess what … too many of us are living our lives on the "camera, lights" and no action scenario. In order to change the way things were in my life, I had to take some action! Without the action, I would still be reading, and praying, and waiting. And guess, what? Nothing would have happened. Actually, it would, I would just have had to live on the emotional rollercoaster of feeling low every time my past decided to present itself so vividly in my mind. So remember this "It's not the camera and the lights that completes the movie, the final cut is in the action" About Trish Jones Trish Jones, aka "The Blogging Queen." http://www.trishjones.com Is a mother and Internet Marketing Consultant specializing in helping authors, info marketers and independent professionals get their blogs online. I did a teleseminar which was hosted by Christina Rowe author of "Seven Secrets to a Successful Divorce" and she interviewed me, Tracy Repchuk, bestselling author of "31 Days to Millionaire Marketing Miracles" on the topic "Success Above it All". For those of you who don't know much about my background, I will be sharing something with you that only a handful of people knew before today. When I met Christine Rowe, and she had the courage to talk about her past, she made me realize that I don't have to hide what happened, and in fact, I can use it to help anyone that has been through a similar experience. When I was young I went through a horrible divorce. For those of you who don't know my story, I started my first company while I was still in college at the age of 19, in 1985. Together with my college boyfriend, we planned our life together. I had made the big leagues by time I was 22 years old, driving my BMW, buying properties, extravagant works. vacations, Mercedes, the works. And then, we got engaged, but it's not what you're thinking, because 2 weeks before the wedding, he called it off. He was with someone else, Women Internet Marketers - For serious internet marketing women and she had gotten pregnant, and he was going to marry her. I had to work side-by-side through agony and heart ache, and watched him with her, while I still loved him. But the pain did not stop there. I did something foolish, and that was start to see someone who was clearly not right for me. And then yes, in June of 1989, we got married, while I was still reeling from this original devastation. That is where my problems began, because within the very short 9 months we were married, after it was clear he had a temper, it took me almost 4 years to get a divorce, cost me thousands and thousands, as he fought for every ounce that he could get out of me, emptied our personal bank account, emptied the house of the furniture while I was at work (he had just graduated as an Engineer so hadn't established his own career yet), and then he came after my company. But, that wasn't the hard part. It all came tumbling down on me with the full fury of a tsunami, when during all of this, running a company, watching my ex-fiance with his new wife and daughter, the wife wanted me out of the company. So, the locks to my business were changed, my business credit cards were cut off, and he tried to keep me away from my company. I had 2 men vying for my company at the same time. do? So what was I to do? Well after months of trying to determine what had he done to the company that he needed to hide from me, I discovered that it was $100,000 in debt, and still owed over $200,000 in deliverable custom programming projects, most of which all the money had been collected, and no work had occurred. Women Internet Marketers - For serious internet marketing women Now what - right? Well, here's what I did. I got a loan for $80,000 and bought him out. I brought in a partner, which has now been my husband for 15 years, and pulled that company out of bankruptcy, restored our credit, delivered all of the projects with no funding to pay for them, and started again. While he moved directly across the street, doing the same thing, and stole all of my staff. Then what is the moral of my story? It could be many things, but today, it is about realizing there are steps to get out from under the piles of tragedy, and actions you can take to move yourself to the next level of success. It doesn't matter where you are in your life right now, because from this moment on, you are going to be better off. Being the person that I am, I had walked around for days trying to please and motivate everyone, only to find myself completely drained and exhausted by the end of the week! Did I have a choice? After doing a fair bit of soul searching, I had to admit that the answer to this question was a definite yes! I remembered that we always have a choice in life, and that there are, in fact, endless possibilities every minute of every day: Right now, if I wanted to, I could stop writing this blog, pack my bags, take a taxi to the airport and fly straight to the Bahamas! Alternatively, I could go into the nearest bar and start a conversation with a group of complete strangers. I could also dye my hair pink, or take off all my clothes and run down the street naked ! I could pick up the phone and make a call to someone that I haven't spoken to in fifteen years, or I could stand in the middle of Victoria station and start singing a song! Women Internet Marketers - For serious internet marketing women Some of these options might seem a bit mad, but they certainly are possible! So why not? We also have a choice when it comes to people: Who do we surround ourselves with? I recommend that you surround yourself with positive, fun and supportive people. Why? Because they nourish, energize and inspire you. But what should we do when we find ourselves surrounded by negative people? Again, there are various options to choose from: We can try to please them and end up feeling drained- not a good choice! We can move away from them as much as possible - better! Or, and this is what I suggest, we can try to point them into a different direction by offering positive support and advice - BUT: as soon as we notice that they would rather stay negative and continue blaming others - and life in general - we have to protect ourselves by limiting the time that we spend with these individuals. We can then move on, thus saving our energies and efforts for us and the people who truly deserve it! But don't I have to please everyone and be nice all the time so that I can be a good citizen and go to heaven? If you are being nice all the time because you think you have to, then Women Internet Marketers - For serious internet marketing women unfortunately you are not doing yourself or anyone else a favour. If you are acting in a certain way because you feel obliged to do so, then your actions don't really come from your heart anyway - so what are they worth in the first place? And if you are being drained by people, then how can you be filled with positive energy yourself? Furthermore, if you aren't filled with positive energy yourself, then how can your positive energy overflow into other people's lives? When on a plane we are always being told to use our own oxygen mask first before helping others. It's the same in life - if you can't "breathe" yourself, then you can't give to others. Once we feel healthy, wealthy and full, the universe starts to correspond to the nature of our song; We attract even better things, and helping and giving to others happens naturally and effortlessly. What choices will you make today? About Vanessa Bsirsky Vanessa is originally from Germany and has worked as a musician and teacher as well as a manager in different industries. Vanessa has been recognized by others as a great people person and a natural leader. Women Internet Marketers - For serious internet marketing women 5 Motivation Tips to Have A Thriving Business and Happy Life Lorraine Lorraine Cohen You’ve probably been thinking about where you are in your business and your life. You have, right? Now that you have a starting point you can focus on your destination. Where do you want to be in a year, five years, or ten years? In setting your sights for the future, be sure to identify the results you really want rather than what you think you should want. This point is so important because if you’re not pursuing what you really want, the likelihood of feeling fulfilled with your success is low. I often hear successful people say they feel something in their life is missing or they feel they should be doing something else. If you relate to these feelings, take time to explore where your heart and passions lie. You will be happier in the long run! That being said, let’s assume you have picked three areas of your life you want to change or improve. It might be generating more income, creating more personal time, taking your business to the next level, or attracting a new relationship. You might be feeling gung-ho about some of the things you envision for yourself and have concern about sustaining your motivation. Below are some tips to help you get moving and stay moving. Women Internet Marketers - For serious internet marketing women 1. Show up. You have identified three things you want to have this year, right? Ok, how badly do you want them? To create anything you want, you must be fully on board to do whatever it takes to make it happen. So, are you? This means concentrating your attention on the destination you wish to reach. Be sure that what you choose to “go for” aligns with your purpose and passion so that your commitment is strong. If you’re not fully on board, take another look at what you chose. Chances are, you have picked areas that are misaligned with your heart. 2. Put your attention on the destination, as if you were already there. Create a course of action that ignites your excitement. In my monthly mastermind group, we begin each month with a list of 30 day promises. We view these promises as agreements we make to ourselves as well as to the group. This list is used to guide our decisions and actions so that we remain focused on the intention we set for ourselves, personally and professionally. At the beginning of each month, we assess our progress and address any roadblocks that have been troublesome. We find 30 day agreements create the momentum we need month to month. Having support systems that provide accountability, advice, resources etc. is a critical element that contributes to success. Share this list with your support systems (if you have them). Including them in your monthly intentions will add further accountability to your success. 3. Execute. Take action. Otherwise, you have good intentions that go nowhere. Women Internet Marketers - For serious internet marketing women 4. Reassess your progress periodically. 60-90 days is a good time frame to re-evaluate what’s working and what’s not so that you can make needed adjustments. 5. Create a motivation strategy. Make a list of people and things that energize and juice you. Include things you will do when you become discouraged or distracted such as taking a 10 minute break, calling a friend, and using the tools you have to stay motivated and focused. Read on to learn two key excuses people use to avoid or stall taking action (when they KNOW they need to do it and they don’t!). PS. This is one of the ways we sabotage our success to having what we want! Excuse #1 – I don’t have the time. Time issues are really about how you schedule your time rather than trying to find more time. We all have the same 8760 hours in a year to use. Are you making choices that improve the quality of your life or ones that add more problems and stress? Excuse #2 - I can’t afford it. Funny thing about this excuse…. somehow people find a way to make things happen when they want it badly enough. What do you think it might be costing you to keep this excuse – money, peace of mind, your dreams? My advice: Are you continuing to see the same patterns emerging that keep you stuck and you’re feeling frustrated because you haven’t been able to break through? Women Internet Marketers - For serious internet marketing women You will free yourself from spinning your wheels by working on personal development. I mean looking at your attitudes and behaviors. Invest your time, energy, and resources to get to know yourself well – who you are and why you do what you do. Having the courage and determination to invest in self-reflection is critical to achieving success and life fulfillment. If you’ve been working on yourself and made some progress, keep at it and go deeper. Be willing to discover things about yourself that are hidden more deeply inside. The answers you seek are within you. There is a wealth of information, skill, and support available to anyone seeking happiness. That’s really what we all want – to feel love and happiness! Add people to your team to help you uncover what might be undermining your best efforts. Call to action: Review your vision for the year. Put your focus on the destination – where you want to be on 12/31. Do 1, 2 or all 3 action steps. 1. Make a list of promises you will commit to over the next 30 days that move you forward towards your vision. Share it with someone who supports you. Notice how you show up or disappear when action is called for. Going forward, I recommend creating this list on the first day of each month. 2. Observe how often you use the two excuses to say no to yourself and your dreams. Women Internet Marketers - For serious internet marketing women 3. Create a motivation strategy. Keep adding things to it so it continues to expand! But how do you get the journalist interested? The place to start is with a press release. And the good news is a badly written press release is better than no press release at all. Although clearly a well written one is best of all! The key point to remember is that the press release is your communication with the journalist and not with your customers or the journalists’ audience. So make sure you give them what they need to know. 1) A clear “it says what it does on the tin” headline. Clever headlines that don’t tell you anything are not helpful. Journalists receive 100s of press releases every day – so make sure yours is clear about what it is, straight away. 2) Get to the point as quickly as possible, lots of waffle and “sales talk” is irrelevant. Journalists are busy and don’t have time to read lots of prose. Use bullet points if that’s clearer. Women Internet Marketers - For serious internet marketing women 3) Be clear about who you are. You need to be credible so ensure that you give, briefly, some information about yourself or your company. In other words ask yourself the question “why should anyone trust my expertise in this area?” 4) Be sure to add your contact details – landline, mobile, email and web site. Journalists often have tight deadlines so make it easy for them to contact you. Remember if they can’t reach you they will probably go elsewhere. 5) If you are sending the release via email put it in the body of the email, not as an attachment, and be sure that the layout is easy to read. You want to make it as easy as possible for them to see the content. Extra files to open, closely packed text, reams of irrelevant background information are all ways of stopping journalists looking at your information. Finally, when you do send out the press release, make sure that you have someone available to talk to the journalist. Don’t send the release if you are about to go on holiday. If they follow up on it they will need to speak to you further. So make sure you have a spokesperson available, who knows their stuff and feels confident speaking to the media. Women Internet Marketers - For serious internet marketing women A poor press release is better than no press release, but a bad interview can be worse than no interview. Journalists like to deal with people that are easy to work with and deliver what they promise. If that’s not yet you, then don’t start to cross any bridges that you may end up burning!
