Culture Grams Our students use Culture Grams when they research countries and states as well as when an information need arises that relates to geography. Our staff appreciates how appealing and engaging the website is while remaining clear and easy to use. Research Strategies This is a list of the research strategies we use, followed by the lesson(s) that utilize each strategy. Citations are at the top of the graphic organizer. Each note is linked to a particular resource. – Native American research, Chesapeake Bay animal research Students revisit the notes taken by all classes on the same topic. They indicate the need for elaboration (“more”) or clarification (“?”). – Native American research In the lab, students do one day “mini-research” that relates to classroom content to learn to navigate the features of a webpage. – Maryland mini-research In the lab, students do one day “mini-research” that relates to classroom content and includes citations. Note taking sheets are enlarged by 135% and copied on 11 by 17 paper (front and back) so that all work is on one sheet. – country research, Revolutionary War research
