Eyetracking Analysis of Book Reading to Children This study examines how children look at books during shared book reading. In addition, we want to know if children have different viewing behaviors when being read different book types (e.g. storybooks and number books) and how their viewing changes over the course of multiple readings. We hypothesize that 1) children will focus primarily on illustrations rather than text during shared book reading, regardless of book type, and 2) children’s attention to text (relative to illustrations) will increase after repeated reading of the same books.
