TIPS ON BOOK REPORTS -

The basic elements discussed in a book report on nonfiction are as
follows:
Title and theme.
Identify the underlying idea(s).
How is the title related to the theme?
What problems are presented?
How are they resolved?
Are the problems universal or limited to the author?
These are some of the questions to be considered.
Author, point of view, and purpose.
Give details of the author’s life that have a bearing upon his writing.
What are the author’s viewpoint and purpose?
Summary of the major points.
These may be events, crises, incidents, etc.
Personal comment.
This is your response to the work.
How did it make you feel?
In your opinion, what are the major strengths and weaknesses of this particular work?
