Preterit v. Imperfect Project Options
Baby Book
You must create a baby book that includes photos and other objects that represent at least fifteen
significant events from your childhood and tell us about them in Spanish. Some suggestions follow:

your name, nicknames (apodos)
Describe your physical appearance—height, weight, eye color, hair color, etc.
Describe your personality—were you happy, sad, spoiled, ornery, disobedient?
Describe your home—family members, pets, house
Describe your education—preschool, kindergarten, first grade, etc.
Describe your diet—favorite foods, things you would not eat, how much you ate
Describe your habits and daily routines—friends, people you liked, favorites (games,
stories, songs, toys), things you disliked
Describe significant events in your life—illnesses, firsts [smile (sonrisa), turn over (dar vuelta), laugh
(risotada), tooth, crawl (gatear), sit up, stand up (ponerse de pie), walk, drink from a cup, words,

Extinct Animal Project
This project requires you to use a piece of fruit or a vegetable and to create from it an
imaginary animal that is now extinct. You must then make a book (pop-up book, smoosh book, (see
me for patterns), big book, puppet book, read along book, etc.) that describes at least fifteen
significant pieces of information about your animal’s life (including the information that follows)
in Spanish:
Describe the animal’s physical appearance
Describe the animal’s personality
Describe the animal’s habitat—where did it live, what did the area look like
Describe the animal’s diet—favorite foods, things it would not or could not eat, how
much it ate
Describe the animal’s habits and daily routines—other related animals, predators,
things it liked to do/disliked doing, how it typically spent its days
Describe the animal’s strengths and weaknesses—things that it did well/badly
Describe how other animals or people felt about or acted toward the animal
Describe an interesting event that happened in the animal’s life one day
Explain the event that led to the animal’s extinction
