Za začetek, hvala lepa za pohvale ! Res je, da sta Metelkova in Rog odigrali (in še vedno igrata) pomembno vlogo na naši glasbeni poti. Gre za prostore, ki se trudijo razumeti in podpreti ustvarjalne ljudi, ki ponavadi nimajo sredstev za najem prostora za vaje, ustrezno opremo, skratka vso potrebno infrastrukturo. Takšni prostori so fajn tudi zato, ker dobiš priloţnost srečanja s publiko, javnega nastopanja, brez veliko

Hm, mogoče zato, ker zaloţb ne razumemo preveč dobro. Ali pa zato, ker še nismo pripravljeni Kako to, da tako kvaliteten bend kot vi (kvalitetna pop glasba, dobro odigrana, dobro odpeta, z dobro vsebino, podprt s strani Ministrstva za kulturo igra v takih ponuditi naših mladih teles volkovom. Zaloţbe pomenijo podpise, pogodbe, pričakovanja. Mi pa smo v fazi formiranja, iskanja zvoka, izraza, kreativne svobode in glasbene sproščenosti. Če pridemo do tega, moţno da bo s to zavestjo laţje

nastopati tudi v smeri podpisovanja kakšne pogodbe.

Kako je nastajala glasba za Karavano Kakšno vlogo ima glas v vaši glasbi? Je le en od inštrumentov, ali tekstom iluzij? Kdaj ste se zbrali, koliko časa ste delali komade, koliko časa in kje ste snemali?

Vsak instrument ima svoj pomen in svoj prostor v celotni sliki, tako tudi vokal ki ga tretiramo kot enakovrednega partnerja violini, kitari.. Besedila so pomemben dejavnik ampak raziskujemo tudi drugačne načine vokalnega izraţanja npr. scat

po

končanem

projektu/predstave DOM (2007) v produkciji Prešernevega gledališča Kranj za katero sem napisala glasbo. Po tem projektu sem dobila idejo in inspiracijo za Karavano Iluzij. V začetku leta 2008 Ministrstvo za kulturo je odobrilo sredstva,

Zgodi se tudi to, da besede res niso potrebne, ampak glasba ni samo intuitivno in prijateljsko popotovanje, je tudi trdo delo in ob nastajanju novih pesmi je potrebno veliko komunikacije, ki bi se ji včasih mogoče raje izognili, ampak jo poskušamo dojeti kot sestavni del napredka skupine. Najlepša nagrada za to je, ko skladba na koncu res lepo zveni, takrat se je treba prepustiti.

skupine začela prehajati v nove oblike. Materijal je bil pripravljen in aranţiran v šestih mesecih, studijska in produkcijska realizacija se je odvijala v Jagodini (Srbija) in Ljubljani (studio RBS) in je bila končana v treh mesecih.

Če ni skrivnost, koliko je stal projekt?

Bo Karavana iluzij obstala, ali je to samo 'ena plata' projekt?

Projekt ―Galerija Glasbe‖ v izvedbi društva Kulturni vikend je vseboval zgoščenko Karavana Iluzij in sta ga podprli MK in MOL. Vsebina projekta se nanašala na sodelovanje in promocijo ustvarjalcev različnih etničnih skupin. Rezultat tega sodelovanja so nastopi na festivalu Lent, nastop ob Dnevu beguncev, na festivalu Kultoar. Izvedli smo tudi več glasbenih delavnic za mlade in otroke, izdali zgoščenko... Na projektu je sodelovalo več kot 15 glasbenikov/glasbenic in drugih ustvarjalcev. Kakšni so plani za naprej? Imate kakšne koncerte? Kakšni so odnosi med glasbeniki v bendu? Se razumete brez besed? Trenutno delamo na nadaljevanju projekta, Gostovanja? Teţko je dajati obljube. Glasba bo sigurno šla naprej, v kakšni obliki je v tem trenutku nemogoče predvideti. Ustvarjanje in prezentacija glasbe je moje delo, nimam sluţbe zraven, kar pomeni, da nimam izbire. Rada tudi delam z ljudmi, ki nimajo izbire ! To pomeni, da ni cincanja in negotovosti, vprašanje časa pa je, ali bo to publika znala prepoznati.

Cinnamon fnord

Za samo domeno plačujeva 10e na leto, prostor pa je draţji, se mi zdi da okoli 40e na leto. Vrednosti lahko deliš z dvanajst.

Cinamon fnord je nova slovenska; ljubljanska neodvisna, CD-R zaloţba, ki je štartala svoje delovanje v letu 2008. Zunaj ima dve izdaji in sicer Romance of young tigers Marie EP in Beast, please be still S/T. Romance of young tigers je post rock projekt, ki v tej izdaji na dveh komadih: Marie (part I) in Marie (part II) hrumi z mnoţico inštrumentov različne zvočne pokrajine. Dobrih 33 minut muzike. Beast, please be still pa spominjajo na Thee Silver mt. Zion plus kakšne Gogol bordelo. 7 komadov, dobrih 45 minut muzike. V dobi, ko so vse piratske, neodvisne slovenske zaloţbe prešle z audio kaset na CD-R se Cinnamon fnord, ki jo vodita Pia in Rok, vrača k izdajanju hand made audio kaset. Glede tistega kdaj bojo naslednje izdaje; nimata pojma in se nerada omejujeta z roki, kar vejo tudi bendi, upata pa da do začetka poletja vsaj 3 ali 4. Z Pio in Rokom sem se pogovarjal po e-mailu konec februarja 2009. Ubistvu jih ţe 50 ne razprodava. Izdelava je zamudna, ker je treba vsak ovitek posebej potiskat, šivat, rezat, zloţit, in ker hočeva, da je vse skupaj lepo, sva natančna in zato počasnejša. Zaenkrat ni niti povpraševanja po večji nakladi, če pa kdaj bo, jih vedno lahko narediva več. Vajina naklada je 50 ročno izdelanih CDjev, ročno izdelani in printani ovitki, CDR. Zakaj tako majhna naklada? Ne, našla sva jih na internetu, sicer so bile vse CCjane, avtorje sva vprašala za dovoljenje, odgovoril nama pa ni nihče, ampak sva jih vseeno uporabila. Sta fotke na pageu posnela sama?

Pri ROYT izdaji sva ročno sešila jutine vrečke, jih potiskala s sitotiskom, tako kot cd in notranjo kuverto. Zemljevide nama je poslal bend in sva jih zloţila v ovitek. Pri drugi izdaji Beast, Please be Still sva tiskala ovitek z Mozartovimi notami, zrezala trakove blaga, CD-je posprejala z vzorcem čipke, in čez tiskala ptiče, ki beţijo iz notnega črtovja. Zraven sva še dodala še tiskan inlay in pobarvala grafiko z oranţnimi voščenkami. Njihov ovitek sva imela ţe od prej, ker ga je kupila Pia, potem sva našla iste materiale pri nas, bend pa nama je poslal grafike in zemljevide. Končni izdelek se malo razlikuje od njihovega, vendar tudi Razen napovedanih Soundtrax for the non-existing movies imata pod svojim okriljem avtorje, tuje ki avtorje. jim Kako izdata izbirata CD-R? Na Myspace strani od Romance of young tigers se CD-R EP Marie Cinnamon fnord edition prodaja tudi preko Paypala. Sta izdelane CD-je poslala avtorjem in jih Če nama je artist še posebej všeč mu piševa, če bi ga tovrsten release zanimal in zaenkrat je bil odziv kar dober. Dejansko jih mava sedaj v planu celo preveč glede na najin tempo. Naredila sva jih midva, na njihovi strani je le moţnost nakupa, pošljeva pa jih prav tako midva. Pri izdajah Romance of young tigers in Beast blease be still sta se poslužila tudi tiska (ovitek, ovojnica,…). Kje sta to tiskala in koliko stane tisk 50 enot? Zakaj sta se odločila za izdajo hand made audio kaset? Niso že ven? Bum records so prenehali izdajati audio kasete že pred tako oni prodajajo? Ali pa so sami izdelali svoje kopije? sami priznavajo, da je najin lepši. Razumel sem, da dizajn CD-R-a Romance of young tigers ni vajin. Kako sta prišla do njega? So vama avtorji poslali ovitke?

Mogoče, čeprav imava zdaj polne roke dela z izdajami, kaj šele z organizacijo festivala.

Pravzaprav so kasete skupna izdaja Cinnamon Fnord in Quilt Records, ki je zaloţba enega od članov ROYT, ki je predlagal sodelovanje. Kasete prihajajo nazaj!

Not at all! Subway records also doesn't exist anymore! The Subway records that put out »With All Seven Fingers« was the in-house label of the distributer Cargo Germany. Our manager at the time was the head of Cargo, so he put us on his

The well known musicians don't really make any difference at all. Malediction is a great soundingn record that features Kid Congo Powers, Frankie Infante, Daniel Ash—a veritable indie rock guitar hero convention—but though it might get you

We don't have a distributer in the U.S. at the moment. (Although everything is available on itunes—including a couple ringtones for your phone!) Rent a dog is a small indie label— distributed by Alive. And there are other distributers in various countries—Goodfellas in Italy; Differant in France etc…Cadiz in the UK 'til last year. Lowlands in BeNeLux and before that Bang…etc.

Martin Bisi (Sonic Youth, Foetus, Cop Shoot Cop, Dresden Dolls, Herbie Hancock—and thousands of others). I mixed the thing in my basement in Harlem and at Ken Rich's stuidio in Brooklyn. The whole thing was done in just a few weeks from the very first note to the end of mastering.

Yout fifth album The Magnetic Waltz is On Wikipedia your fourth album Berlin Hi-fi is listed as it was released both on Rent a dog and Alive. Is it Alive listed on Wikipedia as released on Rent a dog, Alive and Different. Is it the same story as Berlin Hi-fi? Does Different mean Differant, french distributer?

But the VSA is connected to Austrian TV & radio and certainly the affiliation with EMI helps to get the album available in the stores. When I was Firewater, the band sold many more records on little indie label Jetset Records than the period on Universal! We made dozens of demos for Universal trying to produce the next great hit single-ha! Basically what's different if you're relaly directly in contract with the major is that you get some money coming in on a regular basis.

(Jellybean Records—the guy is so modest…) which put out the soundtrack to the film »Dummy« that I did. It was really just a tax writeoff for him. SONY never promoted anything. He just had a deal with them because of all the money he made for them producing all kinds of clever crap.

That was basically just a promotional release aimed at radio and was never really commercially promoted or properly released. The entire

Which album wil be released on vinyl on Devil’s Ruin an Bloodshot? Will those labels release it independently or in team?

What about bootlegs. Are there any? And CD-r-s? Co-release-probably in april-the new album, »americanundone«. Devils Ruin wants to put out Magnetic Waltz and Berlin A couple, sure—stuff that we pressed just 100 or 200 copies for a tour…They're listed on the website + one of just me and John as a duo at Schokoladen in Berlin, where we played a lot of the Berlin Hi-fi songs for the first time. And we did some great radio & TV shows, including in New Jersey-(WFMU), Vienna, FM4 and Geneva, (Radio Suisse Romande), and WDR-Rockpalast in Germany-that are probably floating around See above—yeah—americanundone, for sure—and hopefully the next one as well + a best of and maybe more…finally. Will you release your new album in U. S. A. also? Hi-fi as well.

Bloodshot is more leaning toards a »best of« we'll see what happens…

You have a song on myspace Who you are. From which album is it? Is it from new one? Wil it be released on Rent a dog? What is the european audience different from american one? Where do you prefer to play?

That will be on the next studio album—our 10th anniversary special!-coming out later in 2009. Recorded last year in Aachen. Well, you can make certain generalizations by country or city-the Belgians, for insstance, are more of a listening audience, the Italians definitely make more noise! All the big cities are a bit tougher-people are just blasé and a bit jaded.

But really there's not that much difference. Coming form another country-even in our smaller, technologically connected world, there's still the slight exoticism of being from another country, so that works to your advantage. Also, touring in Europe as opposed to the U. S. or the U. K., you're treated much better in terms of respect-and most importantly food! That's a big difference that makes the artist just feel better about being alive, which probably leads to better shows and-and therefor a better experience for everybody! Sometimes I really want to make sure the audience really understands what the hell I'm talking about and of course it's easier if it's an english speaking audience, but more and more people everywhere speak english. And of course, we also have a couple songs partly in French and German-and I kinda like mixing up the languages chatting from the stage. Definitely has it's humorous side as I destroy a bunch of languages at once. We're in your town for 1 1/2 hours. Whether you hate it or love it, I want to make sure you remember the experience forever!

there was no such thing as a »professional« artist or musician. It was just something some people did who happened to be good at it-in between their real jobs of digging graves; lending money; baking bread, or killing goats. Personal

entertainment/expression that maybe you shared with other people… Now, I'm not sure if we're better off now with a »professional« class of artist-but for better or worse-that's how it has developed. And I want to be able to eat, cuz I work fucking hard and make something that other people find valuable. Nobody would ever think to

Ja v nedelo je bil zastonj koncert dveh nemških skupin, Road kill zombies in Empty trashcan being kicked v Bazenu v Kranju. Bil je v sklopu njihovih (Izbruhovih) Trash night večerov. Benda sta bla skupi na turu, čeprav stilsko nista pasala skupi. Vse se je začel tm okrog pol desetih, čalanov bendov in roudijev je blo več k vseh ostalih. No imeli smo druţbo 'ţupana

Drugi so bli kt napovedan Empty trashcan being kicked. Bl hard core, majo baje zaloţbo: Extreme Life Wasting in Riot Rock Records. Baje tud pijejo preveč. Sm obema bendoma poslal enak intervju, pa mi noben še ni odpisal. So zgleda bl jebiveter. Sm dou not tud vprašanje, če se nikol ne naveličajo ene in iste muske, k je zanimal Klekota. Bomo vidl kaj bodo rekl. Načrtujrm met v drugi cifri Krepa. Komad Police je na sajtu od Krep productions. Sm snemal z diktafonom, sam je neki sral, pa nism vse ujel. Se na konc sliš k Mara'akate, k je tud na Krep productions.

Kransterdama'. No skratka kakih deset ljudi skupi z ozvočevalcem. Jst sm snemal najprej Road kill zombies z majhnim digitalnim fotoaparatom, k ma opcijo snemanja, lahk posnameš dve uri, sam nism vse ujel. Se je pol vse bl krep slišal. K je začela solo kitara se je še neki razločl, pol k so pa začel bobni, pa druga kitara, je bil pa sam šunder. Vseen bom en komad video dal na Krep productions. Drgač pa kot nemški The

Hellacopters, mal tud podobni Sonic angels in The Real things. Baje še nimajo zaloţbe, bom probou kj dobit za Krep productions.
