Job As a VA Contract Specialist Intern, you will assist the contracting office by
reviewing regulations and procedures on procurement packages, preparing
Description contract modifications, negotiating changes, exercising options, investigating
and resolving contractor delays, appraising contractors, reviewing
subcontractors, filing claims, handling terminations, and fulfilling other
administrative responsibilities. This position is a 2-year temporary position with
an option for permanent status after the two year term.
Qualifications To be eligible, applicants must meet, or anticipate meeting, the
following program requirements:
Bachelor’s degree is required to meet minimum qualification
requirements for a GS-5.
Available to work overtime whenever necessary
Available to travel for 1-2 weeks at a time
You must be able to work full-time hours 40+ per week
Good communication, writing, and computer skills
Salary Dependent on qualifications
GS-5: $31,372 - $40,785 GS-7: $38,860 - $50,519
GS-9: $47,534 - $61,794
Funding & tuition is provided to travel for approved training
The target level for this position is GS-11, $57,511-$74,759
