The A.I.M. (Achievement, Independence, & Motivation) Center is a non-profit organization providing psychosocial rehabilitation services to adults, 16 years and older, diagnosed with a mental illness. Located at the corner of McCallie Ave. and Orchard Knob Ave., the "clubhouse" uses a work oriented program. "Members" participate in the workorder day, side by side with staff, to carry out the daily operational requirements of the clubhouse. AIM Center also offers supported employment, education, and housing services. CADAS -- Chattanooga Area Drug & Alcohol Services – delivers the highest quality treatment, prevention and educational services to the chemically dependent, their families and the community at large. CADAS operates a pre-adolescent/adolescent treatment unit, adult in-patient treatment unit, transitional living unit, and out-patient clinic services. CADAS also provides related services such as vocational evaluations and job placement activities. Caring, Inc., matches employer’s individual labor needs with job applicants with a wide range of abilities and skills. Applicants range from high school seniors to seasoned skilled workers, to graduates of college and technical school programs. Some of the services provided are: vocational evaluations, work adjustment training, community based on-thejob training, job development and placement services and school-to-work transition services for high school students. Chattanooga Goodwill's Employment & Training Division offers mobile vocational evaluations, work adjustment training, job readiness training & job placement services. Work adjustment training can incorporate computer skills training, data entry training, receptionist training, assembly work & custodial training. Job readiness consists of 20 visits in which participants will participate in a job club, learn how to read help wanted ads, interviewing skills, resume skills and job retention. Also, assistance with developing job leads, filling out applications, and developing appropriate transportation. Goodwill also offers its clients vouchers to purchase work clothing from one of our stores. Corporate Connections is a University of Tennessee marketing initiative grant funded by the Tennessee Division of Rehabilitation Services to develop resources for business leaders that promote employment opportunities for people with disabilities. Corporate Connections provides businesses with education on issue such as disability awareness and job accommodations. In addition, this service links employers and local community resources to assist business in recruiting qualified candidates to fill employment needs. Successful disability employment practices are highlighted through public relations and marketing activities to promote the benefits of employing people with disabilities to other business leaders across the state. Georgia Department Of Labor/Vocational Rehabilitation Program: is a federal/state funded program providing services to help individuals with disabilities enter or return to employment. It is designed to help individuals with physical and/or mental disabilities compete successfully with others in earning a livelihood. Services are available for Georgia residents, age 16 and older. Independent Living Centers of Middle TN -- has received a grant funded by Social Security for the Benefits Planning, Assistance and Outreach (BPA&O) Project. This initiative is to educate and assist individuals with disabilities receiving SSI/SSDI, and those who support them, to anticipate and plan for changes that may occur in their state and federal benefits as a result of employment. If a recipient wants to return to work but is afraid of what will happen to state and federal benefits, they should contact a Benefits Specialist to receive information on the different "Work Incentives". Orange Grove Center provides services for those with Mental Retardation and Learning Disorders. Job Training opportunities available on-site in the areas of maintenance/janitorial, cafeteria, assembly/production, and heavy equipment including Fork Lift and Skid Loader Certification. Community enclave sites available for assessments/ training. Orange Grove staff also provides services in job readiness training, work-adjustment training, job placement, supported employment and trail work experience. We provide supported employment services for individuals, age 18 and above. Services include job development and placement, job counseling, and job coaching and assistance, where needed, with personal tasks such as hygiene, clothing purchases, etc. The Agency maintains communication with the client and (with client's approval) with the employer and client's family. Agency personnel also assist (where needed) in the development of social skills necessary to the workplace. Signal Centers offers a variety of services for students preparing to enter the workforce. We conduct classroom training in job search skills, as well as on-site training at several local businesses. The skills and interests of each are matched to specific jobs. We assist each student in making informed choices about their personal career path. Each student is assisted in creating a workable resume. Instruction in filling out applications and participating in interviews is also covered. Our staff carries out personalized job development for each student when they are ready to go to work. Students are assisted in job placement and training on the job they acquire. There are follow-along services for ninety days after the date of hire, during which each student has access to their consultant during all hours they are working. Siskin Hospital’s Vocational Services Department provides vocational evaluation services which are performed by Master Degree level Certified Rehabilitation Counselors (CRC). Supported employment, job placement and trial work experience services are provided for people with disabilities who are ready to enter the workforce but require assistance from a certified vocational employment specialist. Finally, the Community Re-Entry Services (CRS) program is a day-treatment program for individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury. In CRS, clients receive Pre-Vocational Behavioral Skills Training, Therapeutic Recreation Services, independent livings skills and job readiness services that enable them to go or return to work. TN Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) is a federal/state-funded program providing services to help residents of Tennessee with disabilities enter or return to employment. It is designed to help individuals of work age with disabling physical and/or mental disabilities compete successfully with others in earning a livelihood. The Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired, through the Tennessee department of rehabilitation services, serve residents in Hamilton, Bradley, Polk, McMinn and Meigs counties. These services include help with educational training and accommodations to complete training and to enter into employment. If necessary we can do evaluations to determine the appropriate accommodation and also, with additional criteria met and approvals, the purchase of these accommodations. We also provide independent living services (adaptive living skills at home, orientation and mobility training to use local transportation sources), and medical treatment if needed. Vital Center, Inc., is the region’s only comprehensive facility dedicated solely to meeting the rehabilitation needs of people who are experiencing vision loss. All members of the rehabilitation staff have completed an accredited masters program in a specialized field of vision rehabilitation. Services provided by the Vital Center include: Daily living skills, communication skills, adaptive computer training, Braille instruction, orientation and mobility training, job readiness, training and employment services, support group and evaluations and recommendations for appropriate accommodations. Volunteer Employment Services Team (VEST) through Joe Johnson Mental Health Center serves mental health clients who want to enter or re-enter the work force.
