90.3 Smoking Policy What Is It? The purpose of this policy is to establish smoking restrictions at Company facilities. Why Was It Written? The Union Pacific Railroad intends to provide employees with a smoke-free work environment. This policy has been implemented because of health concerns and complaints from employees. What Are The General Provisions? Smoking is prohibited at the following locations: At Company facilities including private offices and all common areas, i.e., lobbies, hallways, stairways and restrooms. In or near building entrances. In locomotive cabs, cabooses, bunk cars, company vehicles, crew hauling vehicles and similar equipment. Meetings held at off-site locations. Mechanical facilities (Locomotive and Car) may establish smoking areas consistent with safe practices and federal, state, or local smoking regulations. Cessation Programs Programs are available for employees who desire to quit smoking. Interested
