More details regarding report times and locations for parades will be distributed closer to the parade dates.
Please be sure students arrive no later than 7:25 a.m. for rehearsals and are in their seat and ready to begin at 7:30 a.m. There is no morning rehearsal if there is a delay or school closing for inclement weather.
In order to qualify for Movie Night later in the year, each band member must be sure to cut off and return the signed slip at the bottom of the page.

A MUSICAL NOTE 1
Pictures and a Parade !!!!
Our first parade of the 2008 – 2009 season will be held in Freemansburg on Saturday, Oct. 4th. Here is the agenda for the day. Parents, please bring your students to the BASD stadium behind Liberty High School by 12 NOON. Students must be in uniform with instruments or band front equipment – no hats or gloves are needed for the photo. Please enter the stadium from the Elizabeth Avenue entrance. Picture order envelopes will be available in the band room prior to picture day. Please fill out your orders and bring them, with payment, to the stadium on Oct.4th. We cannot guarantee delivery or the cost or orders placed after our designated picture day. Immediately following the photo shoot, band students should report to Freemansburg Elementary School in full uniform. The parade will begin at 2:00. Parents will need to arrange transportation for their students to and from the parade. Please arrange an after parade meeting place prior to dropping off your student to avoid confusion after the parade. The band will be meeting in the church parking lot near the corner of Monroe and Main Streets. Freemansburg will begin closing streets to any through traffic at 1:30. You can drop students off at the elementary school on Cambria Street, and they can walk down the Monroe Street hill to the meeting area. Parking is available in the grassy areas around the school, at the Freemansburg Playground Field on Washington and Cambria Streets, and in the parking lot next to the Eagle Hotel on Main and Madison Streets, if you get there before the street is closed. Please plan on staying to watch the parade and cheer on our band. Your support makes a big difference!

Joe Corbi’s Fund Raiser Begins!
Be on the lookout for the Joe Corbi’s order forms, which should be coming home with your students October 1st. The sale runs until October 20th, so you have an excellent opportunity to build up your student account while providing your friends and family with great pizzas, cookie dough and other delicious products.

PARADE SEASON SURVIVAL TIPS
Here is a checklist to go through BEFORE the first parade. Please try on your uniform now, while there is still time to make any additions or changes. Do your pants drag on the ground when you are wearing your band shoes? Remember, pants MUST be hemmed – not pinned or taped – before the parade. They cannot touch the ground. You will be responsible for any damage caused by pants dragging on the ground, regardless of who hemmed your pants. Make sure you try them on before Parade Day so any adjustments can be made. Do your shoes or boots fit properly? Do you have all the required pieces? Gloves? High white socks? Plain white t-shirt? Hat or beret? You can review the WHAT TO WEAR section of the handbook or contact any of the NEBOPO officers if you have any questions about your uniform.
