23. Your caller for the evening is an elderly gentleman with a cold. On most occasions, you
get several complaints from players that they aren’t able to hear the balls called. Tonight,
you realize after the first few balls that virtually no one in the hall can hear the caller.
            What do you do?

            a. Turn up the volume on the public address system.
            b. Tell the players to quiet down and listen more carefully.
            c. Replace the caller for that occasion.
            d. Ask for a volunteer from amongst the players to handle the calling.

24. You have a regular player who has brought her 14 year old son to play bingo for the first
time. She purchases six packs and sits down at her normal seat. You notice after the first
game that she has given her son two packs to play. During the third game, the 14 year-
            old son calls “BINGO!” You

            a. Tell the caller to continue calling balls because the 14 year-old is not legally
                        capable of winning.
            b. Pay the mother because she purchased the packs.
            c. Pay the prize amount to the player who called “BINGO!”
            d. Ask the mother and son to leave because the son is too young to be in a bingo
                        hall.

25. Your organization is conducting a raffle at a banquet. The prize is a Benelli shotgun
worth $990.00. You are selling raffle tickets in the form of a “stretch” raffle. You must:

            a. Print special tickets with your name, license number, cost of the ticket, date, time
and place of the raffle, general description of the prizes and whether the winner
                        must be present to win.
            b. Allow each purchaser of tickets to stretch their arms to determine the number of
tickets that will be sold for a specified amount.
            c. Post the criteria for determining the number of tickets to be sold for a specified
amount, e.g. “The number of tickets that will fit from the floor to the top of the
                        games’ manager’s belt”.
            d. a. and c.

26. Prior to the recent rule changes (12/1/2006) your group played a progressive jackpot
bingo game with a 70/30 split. Now you want to adopt the new changes and reserve 10%
of the amount of progressive sheets sold to establish the secondary jackpot. You started
your first game with $500. You sell $1,000 per occasion. Your bingo occasion rules
state that you will have a must go at the occasion in which you reach the maximum
jackpot. How many occasions will you hold until you have a must go?

            a. 15.
            b. 30.
            c. 25.
            d. 24.

            b. Provide packs or sheets to those players using electronic bingo aid devices and

                        blower and master board inoperative.
            c. Terminate the occasion and refund all or a portion of the pack and sheet sales and

37. Your organization contributes funds from bingo to build wildlife habitats along the Platte
river. You have several different games managers in your organization. You have been
on an extended vacation from January 1, 2007 to March 31, 2007. When you returned
from vacation, the games manager who was on duty for the first quarter asked you to
prepare the quarterly report. As you start putting the checks that were written during the
quarter into the schedule A, you notice a number of checks that are voided and number
that were written each week to “Sally Smith” as payee and the memo on each check is
designated “rent assistance”. What do you do?

            a. Notify the secretary of state immediately.
            b. Ask the games manager why checks were being written for “rent assistance”

“Sally Smith” is a member or was assisting at the bingo occasions.
            c. Get copies of the “voided” checks from the bank and determine whether those
checks were written for a specific amount and were cashed and if so, by whom.
            d. b and c.

38. Your organization is part of a national organization based in Minnesota. Your
organization is conducting a raffle with a scheduled drawing on July 4, 2007. The winner
does not have to be present to win. The prize is a 2006 Cadillac that has been donated to
the organization. You have the title to the automobile. What can you do to sell tickets?

            a. Mail tickets to all of your national organization members to sell in their respective

            d. a and c.

39. Your organization is conducting a raffle of an existing home. The home has been
donated to your organization by a local builder who has transferred title to your

            What must you do?

40. Your organization conducts bingo at a commercial hall and uses electronic bingo aid
devices. A player comes to you with a complaint that she purchased three progressive
cards along with her machine but her printout of all of her card faces indicates that the
three progressive faces are identical to each other. What do you do?

41. Your organization has a “pickle bar” consisting of ten buckets. You have put out a very
popular game, one that generally sells out a deal in an evening. Several players have
commented to you that all of the winning pull tabs must be at the bottom of the bucket
because it doesn’t appear that anyone is winning. At the end of the occasion, you close
the books and determine that in fact, no one had won anything in that game, despite the
fact that you sold out the entire deal. What do you do?

42. Your organization has a “pickle bar” consisting of ten buckets. You live in a small town
where everyone knows everyone. One of your pickle bar workers and one of your
regular players “A” are neighbors and greet each other warmly and have a short chat
before the start of each of your occasions. You have just received a complaint from
another player that “A” seems to be winning a lot at the pickle bar. What do you do?

43. Your organization wants to conduct a raffle of a home. Your organization does not own
the underlying real estate and the home is not being donated by the builder. List the steps
that you will go through to make this a successful raffle.

44. Access the LE-33 form from the secretary of state’s website. You operated a pickle bar
with ten buckets. You put out the same ten games each occasion during the quarter. Two
games listed in column a. draw your attention. The Deal Cost for game one was 87.50
for 3,159 pull tabs. This was a $1 game and the Expected Receipts were $3,159 and
Expected Payouts were $2,460. There were no tickets that were not sold. Your Actual
Receipts were $3159 but your Actual Payouts were $2,860. The Deal Cost for game two
was $104.75 for $3,999 cards. This was a $0.50 game. The Expected Receipts were
$1,999.50 and Expected Payouts were $1,360. There were no tickets that were not sold.
Your Actual Receipts were $1990 and Actual Payouts were $1,400. Describe what might
have happened and what you would do to investigate the discrepancy.

45. Your organization’s secretary normally files your annual bingo-raffle application each
November 1. This year, she fell ill and wasn’t able to get the application done in
November. She finally completed it and hand delivered it to the Secretary of State on
December 28. It is now January 3 and you have a scheduled Saturday night session but
you have not received your license from the secretary of state. You

            a. Must cancel your occasion and inform all of your players that you cannot operate
bingo occasions until you receive your license.
            b. May continue to conduct bingo occasions and wait for the license to show up.
            c. May pay an additional fee to get your license expedited so that you have it for the
                        Saturday occasion.
            d. a. or c.

46. Your organization has a raffle drawing scheduled for March 31. You have been selling
tickets since early December of the previous year but have only sold 100 tickets out of
the 10,000 you had printed up. The prize is an expensive two week vacation trip to
Jamaica that has been donated by a local travel agency. You want to cancel the drawing
and hold it later in the year after you get more tickets sold. What must you do? Cite the
            specific Rule by number.

                                                                                                  Rule No.

47. Refer back to question #26 and using the ratio you established for your progressive
jackpot bingo game where you reserve 10% of the amount of progressive cards sold to
establish a secondary jackpot. You would use form LE- to record the sales of
progressive cards and the amount of the jackpot and secondary jackpot. Your bingo
occasion rules state that you will have a must go at the occasion in which you reach the
maximum jackpot. If you started your progression with $500 and you sell $1000 of
progressive cards per occasion, what is the amount in your secondary jackpot when the
            progressive jackpot hits $15,000?

            a. 34b, $2,500
            b. 34b, $2,400
            c. 34b, $1,700
            d. 34a, $2,500

48. You count your cash at the close of the occasion and determine that the amount you
should show for Receipts for sales of packs on the LE-32 is $1,800 but you only have
$1,700 in cash and checks for packs. What do you do?

            a. b. and d.
            b. Notify the secretary of state within 72 hours.
            c. Fire all of your workers.
            d. Deposit the $1,700.

49. Your organization is a lodge of a national organization. There are other lodges in
Colorado but none of them are licensed to operate bingo. Your members are getting tired
of working bingo occasions. What can you do?

50. Failure to pay out $2,000 in prizes during an occasion is what type of violation?

            a. Class 1.
            b. Class 2.
            c. Class 3.
            d. It is not a violation.
