Infrastructure Ontario is a young, vibrant organization playing a leading role in one of the most robust
infrastructure development programs in the country. Infrastructure Ontario also provides Ontario
municipalities, universities and other select public-sector entities with access to affordable loans to build and
renew local public infrastructure.
Infrastructure Ontario’s Procurement Team manages the public procurement process and related
documentation to ensure competitive, fair and transparent acquisition of goods and services. The team also
provides advice and consultation to the AFP project teams and the corporation as a whole on public
procurement policies, legislation and best practices to address procurement issues and mitigate risks.
Reporting to the Vice President of Project Legal, you will assume full responsibility for the implementation of
a strategic, efficient and fit-for-purpose procurement framework. You also will lead the Procurement Team to
provide procurement expertise and support to all divisions within Infrastructure Ontario.
We are looking for a seasoned professional who has:
A minimum of 5 years of senior procurement experience and contract management. Expertise in
procurement practices for large, complex infrastructure projects and understanding of the construction
industry would be an asset
Demonstrated experience in developing effective procurement/contract management strategies, policies
and procedures for complex procurement situations
Relevant academic background and/or professional designation (e.g. with the Purchasing Management
Association of Canada) and good knowledge of procurement related law, trade agreements, contract
administration requirements, and budgeting/financial processing
Experience of leading a team of procurement professionals to deliver objectives on time and within
Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills; strong negotiation and influencing skills to provide
advice and resolve issues with business areas, vendors, sponsors and external service providers
Proven problem solving and facilitation skills to work with project teams in identifying potential issues
and problems and contribute to formulating solutions
Self-starter who is able to work in the complex environment of an evolving organization.
