“We are delighted to be able now to offer the full Truphone experience to Android
device owners around the world”, said Geraldine Wilson, CEO of Truphone. “The
Truphone application allows customers to make free or low cost calls from their
mobiles whether they are in or out of Wi-Fi, whether they are using the Android,
iPhone, iPod touch or Blackberry devices. The cost savings, convenience and
unparalleled call quality on Truphone makes it really easy to stay in touch with
friends, family and colleagues all over the world.”
The application builds on the company’s previous release which allowed
customers to make low cost calls on their mobiles when out of Wi-Fi. When out of
Wi-Fi, the application works by making a local GSM call to the Truphone gateway
(if a customer has a bundled package of minutes this call is often free, otherwise
is charged as a ‘local call’*), from where the call is then routed over the Truphone
network. For details on Truphone’s low-cost call rates visit www.truphone.com.
Truphone’s award winning solutions offer a consistent high quality calling
experience through use of innovative handset software and premium voice
routing partners and are available in relevant application stores or from the

Notes to editors
1. Calls can be made outside of Wi-Fi using ‘Truphone Anywhere’ in 33 countries around the
world, saving Android users from those countries money on international calls made from
their home country. The easy-to-use service works alongside domestic service providers, but
reduces international call costs to as little as £0.03/$0.06 [UK/RoW] per minute.
2. Unlike a ‘calling card’, Truphone Anywhere doesn’t require a user to remember what to do.
Whenever an international number is dialled Truphone Anywhere simply asks whether he/she
wants to make a Truphone call. The user simply accepts, and Truphone connects the call.
