MERCHANTVILLE, NJ, MAY 4, 2010 – An
apartment fire was dispatched with police
arriving at the location reporting heavy smoke
showing. Command arrived and reported
smoke and fire on the third floor of a three-sto-
ry, garden-style apartment building. Handlines
were stretched as the building was evacuated.
Companies went into defensive operations as
Pennsauken used a ladder pipe for fire that
extended into the roof area. Multiple truck
companies were called as the fire reached four
alarms. The bulk of the fire was knocked down
