GENERAL INFORMATION:

Thank you for your interest in the Auxiliary, As and When Required Customer Service
Representative position, at Service BC, Chilliwack. This position is available to cover a
maternity leave.

The following information is attached to the posting; these documents will provide you
with information regarding the position and the competencies required.

This questionnaire allows applicants to describe how their education, training and/or
experience prepare them to meet the requirements of this position. Your responses to
the Background Questionnaire will be evaluated and qualified candidates will be notified
of the next steps in the process. The majority of communication will be via e-mail;
therefore an email address is required for all applicants.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS:

a) To be considered for this position you must submit, at the closing location and by the
   closing date a Resume, Cover Letter and the completed Background Questionnaire.
   This questionnaire includes Acknowledgments, Personal Information and
   Background Questions. The ability to manage time, follow instructions and complete
   forms accurately is an important factor to be successful in this position. Failure to
   complete and submit all documents, information or signatures by the deadline date
   and time will result in disqualification from the competition.

b) The competition number and your name must be clearly noted on each page you
   submit. You must answer all questions in order to be evaluated.

c) Each answer must not exceed 300 words. Font and margins must be Arial 12 with
   1-inch margins. Responses that don’t meet this standard may not be evaluated.

d) You will be evaluated on your ability to follow instructions, complete all fields,
   grammar and written communication skills. This will equate to 10 points for your
   submission.

e) Applicants must complete all information requested and clearly identify how you
   meet the qualifications in Questions 1-3. The Recruitment Board will not complete
   evaluation of your submitted materials if they do not meet the qualifications or submit
   incomplete information. Provide complete details/examples how you meet the
   requirements of the job. For example: Stating “I am good at handling cash” does not
   clearly demonstrate your cash handling skills. You need to qualify this. Where did

   you gain the skills, how did you apply them, which cash handling procedure do or did
   you use, what training did you receive etc.

f) Volunteer work, self-study, education, accomplishments and any background
   information that directly relate to the requirements of this position may be included.

g) Use complete dates including day, month and year for questions asking for years of
   experience and complete the requested information fully.

h) Do not assume the selection panel has any previous knowledge of your background,
   qualifications or work history. Do not request the panel to refer to previous questions
   or to other documents for answers to the question asked. Each question must be
   answered fully to be evaluated.

WILLINGNESS ACKNOWLEDGEMENT:
In addition to the competencies required for the position, a Clerk 4 R11 must be willing
to:
 Keep self informed on current trends and issues through ongoing training, education
    and participation in branch projects;
 Perform repetitive tasks while standing at a counter or getting up and down from a
    chair frequently, for up to seven hours a day;
 Lift and carry boxes/mailbags weighing up to 20 pounds for distances of up to 10
    feet and to manipulate them from heights which may require the use of a foot stool;
 Travel occasionally, for varying lengths of time for relief services if required.
 Work overtime when required.

As & When hours acknowledgement:

The current hours of operation are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday, excluding
statutory holidays. A schedule is developed in advance, but is subject to change based
on operational demands.      This position requires the applicant be available when
required.
