Introduction

This production booklet provides the opportunity to record your production process in
making an Audio product and publishing it on-line.


You will develop an understanding of the key elements of Audio production whilst
developing practical skills in developing a specific Audio product associated with
PODcasting. There are 8 essential processes you will go through.


   -   Understand the Broadcast and non-broadcast Audio industry and the types of
       jobs roles in producing and publishing Audio products. P1 M1 D1


   -   Research the key characteristics of Podcasts P1 M1 D1


   -   Become familiar with the technology and terminology involved in creating a digital
       soundtrack and recording audio. Use Audio technology and apply techniques. P2
       M2 D2


   -   Produce a digital Podcast using GarageBand. P3 M3 D2


   -   Record your digital choices and create an audio Product which demonstrates
       competent technical and aesthetic qualities. P3 M3 D2


   -   Test and evaluate your work to gain feedback


   -   Publish your work via an online/offline website which includes your Audio
       Podcast, with images if necessary.


   -   Learn how to share your Podcast via Bluetooth and gain feedback from the target
       audience and Explain own audio production work using correct technical
       language P4 M4 D3

02. Project Brief

This is a group project. All students will contribute to the following brief.

Students must


   -   Recognise the jobs involved in the radio ‘Podcast’ industry.


   -   Research existing Podcast genres to understand how they are put together.


   -   Plan a Podcast by applying a proposal to the brief.


   -   Assign roles to group members and produce a production schedule


   -   Use GarageBand to record, edit and mix a digital track


   -   Produce a logging sheet and a record of your composition


   -   Test your final product by gaining audience feedback


   -   Produce a website to disseminate your production.

11. Testing and Evaluation

It is important that the product is tested to gain feedback. Share your Podcast with
friends and family to identify possible improvements. Feed ideas back into your
production to make relevant changes.
