					         BUSINESS AND COMPUTER SCIENCE DEPARTMENT
        ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT CERTIFICATE PROGRAM

                 Now as never before, businesses and colleges are requiring specific skills.
                 The Business and Computer Science Academic Achievement Certificate
                 Program is designed to provide a list of the competencies a student
                 has acquired in a certain area of study. Each certificate will list the area of
concentration and the courses taken. The certificate will be signed by the principal and
department coordinator and will be suitable for college and business entrance portfolios. The
certificate will be distributed during the Senior Awards Program unless otherwise requested.
To receive a certificate, the student must successfully complete the courses listed under each
area with a grade of B or better. With a wise choice of electives, a student could qualify for
two or more certificates.

The Academic Achievement areas and their required courses are:

       ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT                    BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
        Speedwriting or Keyboarding                Consumer Investing or Handheld
        Consumer Investing or Retailing            Entrepreneurship or Business Today
        Computer Applications                      Business Law or Marketing
        Accounting I, College Accounting           Computer Applications
            or Business Calculations                Accounting I, College Accounting
        Any ½ credit Business Elective                 or Business Calculations

       COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY                         ACCOUNTING TECHNOLOGY
        Intro to Comp Sci, or Web Design           Business Calculations or

        Computer Applications                      Accounting I or College Accounting
