General descriptions below... FREE CQIA Classes: As part of our Quest for Certification initiative, we are continuing to offer free CQIA classes. To optimize our participation and staffing, we will offer half of the Body of Knowledge at each session. The Body of Knowledge for this certification contains the fundamentals of quality (Quality 101). Go to www.asqfortworth.org then click on CERTIFICATIONS to get information about the content, and a hotlink to the ASQ website for Body of Knowledge detail. If you are ‘new to quality’ this is a great way to get a quick overview of the quality perspective. If you’ve been around a while, this course has the flexibility to ‘fill the voids’ in your knowledge. The Body of Knowledge for certifications require various levels of calculations to answer the questions. This pair of tutorials will start with calculations required for CQIA, CMQ, CQA and CQI certifications, progressing with content for the CQPA, CQT and SSGB, and moving on toward that for CQE, CRE and CBB certifications. As the timing of these exams are on two separate cycles, we are NOT attempting to tie this content to any specific exam date. As content develops, we will map the skill to the certification and then to the specific session. Session A will be Technician-level skills and Session B aimed at Engineering-level ones. Each will be workshop based, with many opportunities for repetitive practice, and where practical, provide worksheets that can be taken into exams. Each will be stand-alone in content with lots of hands-on, practical, application-oriented skill development. Topics will be extracted from feedback from participants at PD Meetings and our Annual Conference… expanding time and depth of working knowledge. Instructors will be selected based on personal working experience, to assure you walk away with not just concepts (the foundation of knowledge) but skills you can use on the job immediately. Topics will be announces at PD Meetings and through eNewsletters 2-4 months in advance. Each session is expected to be 4-7 hours. A per person fee will be charged (~$47-77), with advance reservations required and a minimum of 10 participants before declaring the seminar a ‘GO’ status.
