Basic Black Salve Recipe
Black salve absorbs toxins. A favorite use for black salve is to put a dab of it on bee or other
insect stings. Black Salve sucks out the poisons! No home should be without black salve.

2 oz Beeswax
3 oz Cocoa Butter
3 oz Shea Butter
2 oz Sunflower oil
1 oz Jojoba oil
2 oz Activated Charcoal Powder (available in any drug store)
3 oz French Green Clay (white or pink clay is fine also)
few drops of favorite Essential oil

Melt the beeswax and butters in a double boiler. Add the remaining oils, charcoal, and clay. Stir
until smooth and then pour into small round tins or 1- to 2-oz cosmetic jars.

Honey Lemon Bath Drizzle

2.5 oz Turkey Red Castor oil
2.5 oz Polysorbate 20
2 oz filtered honey
4 - 8 drops of Lemon Essential Oil

Weigh first three ingredients into a Pyrex measuring pitcher, or other microwave save bowl. Heat
in the microwave until liquids are warmed and fluid. Mix well, add your Lemon Essential Oil to the
scent level you like (4 - 8 drops for this tiny formula). Pour into a clear PETE bottle with a flip top
or disc top cap. This mini formula makes one 8-oz bottle of Honey Lemon Bath Syrup or, as I like
to call it, Honey Lemon Bath Drizzle. Instructions for use are simply to add an ounce or so to the
running bath water and then luxuriate in this decadent indulgence.

Mustache Wax

2 ounces beeswax, grated
1 ounce castor oil

Combine in a small Pyrex pitcher and microwave in 20 second bursts until the beeswax has
melted into the castor oil. Remove while the beeswax still has tiny unmelted bits and let the hot
castor oil finish melting the mixture. Do not overheat in the microwave, as beeswax will get hotter
than the glass container. For larger portions, use the stove top for melting your beeswax. Pour
your cooling mixture into small 1-oz balm tins.

Solid Perfume

2 oz beeswax, bleached or natural
1 oz Jojoba oil
few drops of your favorite essential or cosmetic grade fragrance oil

Combine in a small Pyrex pitcher and microwave in 20 second bursts until the beeswax has
melted into the jojoba oil. Remove while the beeswax still has tiny unmelted bits and let the hot
jojoba oil finish melting the mixture. Do not overheat in the microwave, as beeswax will get hotter
than the glass container. Add fragrance oil or essential oil after your wax & oil is well mixed and
begins cooling. For larger portions, use the stovetop for melting your beeswax. Pour your cooling
mixture into small, 1-oz balm tins.

Lotion Bar

2 oz. Beeswax
2 oz. Avocado Oil
2 oz. Sunflower Oil
2 oz. Shea Butter
6 - 10 drops favorite essential oil.

Melt beeswax with avocado oil and sunflower oil in double boiler. Once beeswax is blended into
the oils, remove from heat and add shea butter, heat until melted. Mix well, add essential oil, and
pour into your favorite soap or candy mold.

Buzzy Bee Cold Cream

2 oz olive oil
2 oz castor oil
2 oz beeswax, grated
1/2 tsp borax (.1 oz)
3 oz water
6 - 10 drops fragrance of your choice
6 drops Preservative (.05 oz Liquapar Optima or .05 Optiphen)

Put beeswax, olive oil and castor oil in double boiler and melt together until they are
blended. Combine water and borax in another pot and bring to low simmer (or same temp as
other ingredients in double boiler). Add water/borax mixture to oil/wax mixture, beat with stick
blender or whisk. Keep mixing until mixture is barely warm then add scent. Pour cream into jars
and label.
