Henderson County Schools Has New
Logo and Vision Statement!
The new logo and vision statement was
accepted at the August Board of Education
Meeting. The new vision,
“Preparing Students To Succeed Globally,”
will also appear on the logo. The logo features
the state of Kentucky and two figures represent-
ing an educator and a student. The star and
globe highlight Henderson, Kentucky.
A Note From The Superintendent:
Dear Staff:
Since the opening of school for students 27 days ago I have experienced some very impressive comments
inside and outside the system, observed interpersonal actions among the leadership and listened to the
stories of shared problem solving, which upon reflection, compel me to respond. Your sense of urgency,
challenge, collaboration, cooperation, personal accountability and focus on student needs have created
in me a satisfying awareness of your commitment to teamwork and the cohesiveness of purpose in build-
ing capacity, in a vastly improved culture. I believe we have grasped the understanding that real synergy
comes when we work as a whole and not independently.
In retrospect, I’m proud of you individually and collectively and consider myself fortunate to be a part of the
movement toward a more clearly defined goal for a school system of quality. Keep up the solid effort in
“keeping the main thing, the main thing.”
Thomas L. Richey
“The growth of understanding follows an ascending spiral rather than a straight line.”
