                                 Assignment 5: PowerPoint Timeline

Background

A major course objective is to identify future goals and identify activities to help achieve those goals. In order
to begin thinking about a desired future, it is helpful to summarize the past and describe the present. A timeline
helps you to organize and sequence events from your past and will assist in summarizing major life events and
identifying important people (e.g., parents, friends, family members, teachers, etc.).

Purpose

Use Microsoft PowerPoint to construct a timeline for major events and to identify important people in your
personal history. Apply a Design template or background theme to your slide show. Make sure the background
does not interfere with the text.
            • You will need at least 10 slides with one or two events per slide. Each slide should represent a
year or period in your life.
            • Add at least 1 graphic per slide. Make sure the graphics are relevant to the item it represents.
You may use clipart if you don’t have a photo.
            • REMEMBER THAT THE EVENTS ON EACH SLIDE SHOULD BE DATED AND THE
SLIDES SHOULD BE IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER. DATES AND CHRONOLOGY ARE
IMPORTANT AS THEY ALLOW READERS TO PLACE THEMSELVES IN THE
