LANO is pleased to now offer FREE workgroup sessions to nonprofits who plan to apply
for the Standards Voluntary Certification Program. These are not training sessions, but a des-
ignated time for a LANO representative to answer your specific Certification questions, help
you organize your binder and provide you with personalized technical assistance.

Each month, organizations will focus on a specific standard, answering all of the questions
in that section and bringing the materials to the workgroup for LANO staff to review. The
workgroups will be held in August, September and November 2008, then resume in February
 and March 2009.

                     Board on the Go!

Customized training designed for nonprofit boards

This overview is a great reminder of the importance of a healthy and proactive board
of directors and can be customized for your board. Board on the Go! teaches basic
responsibilities to new board members and expands upon existing knowledge for
seasoned board veterans. The series includes a wide range of sample documents from
board evaluation how-tos to policies and procedures, and you’ll walk away with those
templates.

Contact a LANO Regional Office to ask about scheduling a training or retreat at your
next Board meeting.
