While the winter season is nearing its conclusion we still have lots more skating to do. Remember to read
our bulletin board (located to the right of the snack bar) for news and updates every week. Planning for our
annual Club Fun Competition and Gala is well underway. The Competition/Gala will be held on Saturday,
March 27th from 5:15 to approximately 7:30 and will conclude this year’s skating. Mary Asselstine, our
Competition Chair, is busy working out details for this fun event. Every skater from Canskate to Adult can
participate in the activities. There will be competitions for the Canskate, Junior, Intermediate and Senior
levels. Some of our Intermediate and Senior skaters will be showcasing routines they have worked hard on
all year. As mentioned in our brochure, each skater has one entry in the competition included with their
registration. We do need to know numbers, as all Canskate participants will receive a medal so please sign
up for the competition events Tuesday, February 24 th or Saturday, February 28 th during our regular skating
hours. Medal presentations and Social will be held following the Competition/Gala.

PLEASE TURN OVER
FUNDRAISING
The next fundraising event will be the spring draw, which will be held on Saturday, March 27 th at our year end
Club Fun Competition and Gala. The draw works the same as the grocery draw held in the fall. Each skater will
receive 20 $2 tickets that were paid for at registration. You may sell the tickets and keep the money, thus reducing
the cost of your child’s skating or simply write your name on the tickets. Either way, look for the ballet box
sometime in March and drop in the completed tickets. For this draw we approach businesses to donate prizes. If
your company or the company you work for would consider donating a prize, please contact any Executive
member. For Junior, Intermediate and Senior parents who have not been able to fulfill their music playing duties –
this is your opportunity to volunteer and earn your refund. If two or three people took on this task it would not be
too difficult. Volunteers are still needed to help out!!
