It helps everyone, and contributes to better understanding of people. Also, it Communication skills are crucial in our career, and they help us to have more effective organizations, community, and society at large.
Testimonials “Toastmasters changed my life” Sheryl, DTM “Beyond speaking skills the Toastmasters program help me develop as individual” Ashok, India “I truly believe that my success is directly related to my improved communication skills” Marlyn Binda, New Zealand Quotation of the Month “Speech is power, speech is to persuade, to convert, to compel”. Ralph Waldo Emerson Persuasive Speaking By David Garfinkel Many speakers become skilled at giving a talk to inform an audience, and of course they learn to entertain their listeners alon g the way. But when you are faced with the task of persuading a group to see things in a new light, or to do something you want them to do, then the job becomes a little tougher and you need additional skills. The most “user-friendly” techniques are: 1. Paint a picture of the Future 2. Use Hypnotic Language 3. Use a Metaphor
A wise veteran of spokenword wars once told me that the best persuasion is when you let others “have your way”. That is, give people everything they nee to own the idea you want to sell them, and then show them how to achieve that idea Distinguished Club Program Goals At year-end (June 30/07), the Club must have at least 20 members, or a net growth of at least five members and achieve the following goals: 1.
