Students are excused from school on this day. Students will report back to school on Wednesday, January

Parents of freshmen students are reminded that as per Strategic Plan, your students are required to perform
20 hours of community service every year in order to meet graduation requirements. Information has been
given to your student on fulfilling this requirement. Your student has the official forms to be used for
recording the community service. If you have any questions, please give us a call at Central High School.

Seniors and your parents/guardians are invited to attend College Goal Sunday which will be held on
Sunday, February 8th from 2:00-4:00 p.m. here at Central High School. Individuals will be on hand to
help families complete their financial aid forms for the upcoming college year. This is a tremendous
opportunity for you to get all your questions about financial aid answered by professionals in the field.
Please mark this date on your calendar. We are lucky to have this offered here at Central High School!

Finally, CSAP testing is quickly approaching for our freshmen and sophomores. The testing will occur in
March. This test helps me to analyze the school’s effectiveness with regards to instruction. There have
been many changes this year at CHS. New strategies and methods are being used to enhance our
instruction for your child. Walkthroughs are a daily occurrence to ensure that our teachers and students are
on task. The results of this test helps me to put together a class offering schedule that will provide your
child with the best education possible. The results also help us to see where your student is in his/her
educational development. It is important that our students take the test seriously and are supported in the
taking of the test. Your help with this is greatly needed and appreciated. If you have any questions
regarding the testing, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

Again, Happy New Year! Your continued support is key to providing the best education possible for your
child. Thank you for that support.

With Much Respect,

Fred Trujillo, Principal Central High School
