HOSTESS COACHING FOR A $600 SHOW
Hostess: _________________________________________ Booked from: ____________________________
Address: _______________________________ Phone: _____________________ (day) ____________ (night)
City/State/Zip: __________________________________ Theme (if chosen): ________________________
Show Date: ______________ Time: _____________ Email address: _________________________________
Hostess Packet Presented: At Show______ Mailed ______ Hostess Website Passcode:__________________
1st Email:
Thanks for booking email sent on ______________________ with passcode included.
(Date)
1st Call (scheduled with Hostess at show) _______________________ at ____:_______
“Calling for our 10 minute chat. Is this still a good time?”
Share with Hostess how to go to website and type in passcode.
While you’re both in website together:
o Confirm that party info is correct (location, time, date)
o Have her go to the Wish list & type in her #1 favorite
o Share how the red bar in box on wish list rises as she adds favorites to indicate what sales goal would
be to get everything on her wish list. The final column shows how many ½ priced items she’d be
eligible for as well.
o “How soon can you type in your favorites for me so I can see what we‟re working towards?”
o Work on guest list together focusing on 30 or more names to insure 10 in attendance.
Sample verbiage:
“Susie, my job is to help you get as much free stuff as possible! The more shoppers we have at
your Show, the more shopping credit you receive! Our average guest spends around $50, so with
12 in attendance, you‟d typically have a $600 Show which gives you a $150 shopping spree! Does
that sound good to you? [pause for response] Great! Now you know you can never find the
perfect day for everybody so our goal is to invite 30 people so that we get at least 12 to attend.
Does 30 sound do-able to you?”
If she says no, offer encouragement.
Sample verbiage:
“I‟ll tell you what… when you‟re inviting your guests, ask them who they can bring along for the
fun. Let them know that when they bring their friends, they‟ll go into our „friendship‟ raffle! If 6
people each bring a friend, you‟ll have your 12! Now let‟s talk about who you‟ll be inviting.”
Help her brainstorm by having her list people from the F.R.A.N.K.* list. (*Friends Relatives,
Associates, Neighbors, Kids contacts)
o Ask her to PERSONALLY CALL everyone on her list to invite them
Have her ask each guest to mark the date on their calendars.
Have her ask each guest for their email address and/or home address so we can send reminders.
o Ask her to type in the email addresses and home addresses after each call.
Sample verbiage:
“After each call, you‟ll want to type their email address into my website, I‟ll be able to send an
evite that I‟ve customized just for your party. Plus, for those who cannot attend, the evite has a
“sorry I can‟t attend” link that, when they click on, will send them right to my online catalog so
that they can place an order which counts towards your party sales! Now remember that with 30
invited, you‟re typically going to have about 10-15 in attendance, which also means that 10-15
won‟t be able to make it. Imagine if 10 of those that can‟t attend, each place an order for $40 to
get the special guest offer, you‟ll have more than $400 in advanced orders giving you $100 in
shopping credit before the party has even started! What do you think? How soon can you get
their emails typed in so that I can send the evites out?”
Any questions?
2nd Call on _____________ (after she has completed the guest list and you‟ve mailed reminder cards and/or sent evites)
Print out her “wish list”
o “Your wish list looks GREAT!”
o “I can‟t wait to help you earn enough shopping credit to get the things you‟ve listed.”
Let her know the reminder cards/evites were sent on: _______________________ (Date)
Remind her to encourage everyone to bring guests with them so they can go into our “Party Crasher
raffle”.
o This helps to get more shoppers there which equals higher hostess credit for her!
o Offer her the opportunity to “save more money”! For each buying guest she has in attendance, you’ll
deduct $1 off of any one hostess special. For example, with 10 buying guests in attendance, she can
take an extra $10 off her favorite host special.
Remind her to encourage orders from those unable to attend!
o $400 in outside orders before party = $100 in credit for Hostess!
o Online orders count too!
o Offer gift certificates for upcoming gift-giving occasions like Mother’s day, birthdays, etc.
Set up Pre-booking
o “I want to see you get the most shopping credit possible. We‟ll want to secure at least (1 or 2 depends
on if there‟s a 2 booking promotion or not) bookings so let‟s talk about who is most likely to schedule
a PartyLite Show. Typically it would be someone who loves candles; loves to decorate; loves to
socialize; loves a bargain; or all that I just mentioned.”
o “Who can you think of that fits one or more of these categories?”
Review payment methods available. (checks are made payable to me. We except cash, check, Visa, MC,
or Discover.) Encourage hostess to close her show that night!
Any questions?
3rd Call on ______________ (two days before Show)
I like to pre-make my nametags. Can you run through your list real quick of who you have confirmed?
Remember to call everyone and remind them that they’ll go into our “Friendship Raffle” by bringing
friends!
How are your outside orders coming along? Remind hostess to collect payments for all outside orders before the show
Plant seed…ex: “You’ve done such a great job as a Hostess! “Have you ever thought about doing
something like this to make some extra money?”
I’ll arrive 30 minutes early.
Please provide a table – doesn’t have to be large – card table is fine
Get directions to party and ask if she has any questions
